Role Overview
The Implementation Specialist II, EMR independently owns end-to-end implementations for enterprise and multi-site behavioral health organizations on the Kipu EMR platform. You will lead discovery across clinical, operational, IT, and executive stakeholders, translate complex multi-location requirements into scalable configuration decisions, train end users and administrators, and drive accountability for timelines and deliverables across large client project teams. This role operates with minimal oversight and contributes to team quality through mentorship and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Discovery & Solution Design
• Lead discovery conversations with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to identify client goals, workflows across sites, pain points, and constraints.
• Translate client requirements into clear, actionable configuration decisions aligned with best practices, balancing standardization across locations with site-specific needs.
• Challenge misaligned or risky requests respectfully, explaining tradeoffs and downstream impacts.
• Facilitate decision-making with client sponsors and steering committees, escalating unresolved decisions before they put timelines at risk.
Configuration & Data Quality
• Configure workflows, forms, and settings accurately on the first pass, designing scalable builds that support multiple programs, levels of care, and locations.
• Troubleshoot configuration issues by identifying root causes rather than treating symptoms.
• Validate data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency before import or configuration.
Client Training & Adoption
• Deliver structured, goal-oriented training that prepares clients to use the system independently, using scalable approaches such as role-based curricula and train-the-trainer models for large, distributed user bases.
• Equip client administrators to train their own teams on core workflows and processes.
• Drive client accountability for tasks, timelines, and data deliverables.
Project Delivery & Risk Management
• Own project documentation, ensuring records and project plans reflect reality.
• Identify risks early and document them with clear descriptions, owners, and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with cross-functional partners such as product, engineering, integrations, revenue cycle, and account management when scope, risk, or complexity warrants it.
• Manage phased and multi-site rollouts, sequencing go-lives across locations within a single integrated project plan.
• Provide clear, concise status reporting to client executives and internal leadership.
Go-Live Readiness & Adoption
• Prepare clients for go-live by validating that all readiness criteria are genuinely met.
• Plan and lead cutover activities for large or multi-site launches, including go-live coordination and hypercare support.
• Support post-go-live adoption by driving engagement and tracking early usage milestones.
• Contribute to process improvements and share learnings with peers and newer team members.
Qualifications
Required

• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead structured client meetings, drive decisions, and manage relationships with client executives and steering committees.
• Track record of delivering large-scale or multi-site implementations, including phased rollouts with multiple workstreams and competing timelines.
Preferred
