Job description

The Role The Project Accountant will report to the VP, Accounting & Financial Reporting and be the primary liaison between Accounting and the Finance, Development, Construction, and Operations teams. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to take ownership of their projects and help improve how the work gets done. This is a highly visible role with significant cross-functional interaction and the opportunity to influence and improve business processes. • Prepare and own monthly and quarterly project reconciliations, continuously improving processes, controls, and supporting documentation. • Help document and improve accounting processes and procedures to support a growing organization. • Prepare internal and external project-level reporting. • Support month-end close and financial audits, recommending procedural improvements to ensure accounting and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles. • Perform other ad hoc duties as requested. The company seeks individuals eager to develop their core professional knowledge, learn new areas of the business, and take on additional responsibilities within the company's dynamic team. Secondary responsibilities will be tailored to individual candidate backgrounds as well as company priorities. Minimum Qualifications • Degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience demonstrating an understanding of accounting practices and procedures. • 2-4 years of general accounting experience. • CPA preferred • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Key Attributes for Success • Eager to take ownership, bring ideas to improve processes, and grow within a fast-moving environment. • Attention to detail and good time management skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Familiarity with Ramp, Expensify, Corpay, and/or Sage Intacct or similar platforms is preferred. • Experience working on multiple projects/developments simultaneously. • Ability to adhere to monthly, quarterly, and annual department-driven deadlines. • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills – able to work effectively in a team environment and attentive to timelines. • Confidentiality and integrity.
