The position reports to the Software & Controls Manager and is part of the Software & Controls Department based in Pittsburgh, PA. This role is onsite based in Pittsburgh, PA.
In this role, the essential functions are:
Own release engineering end to end for flight and ground software, from pipeline architecture through final software package generation.
Design and evolve the branching and release strategy. This includes a GitFlow-based model with release branches, automated semantic versioning, and promotion gates that define what qualifies as an alpha build, release candidate, or release.

Integrate automated and manual test campaigns into the release process so every build has a clear, auditable test record.
Deploy and operate on-premises infrastructure for critical engineering services, including GitLab and GitLab Runners, Slurm HPC clusters, Jira, Confluence, Harbor, and MinIO.
Own Linux-based spacecraft flat-sat platforms. You'll work with test engineers to build Python tooling and custom Docker containers for automated deployment and testing.
Set engineering standards for build, test, and release practices across software teams.
