Job description

Etna Interactive, a leading online medical and aesthetic marketing firm based in San Luis Obispo, CA, seeks a full-time remote Copywriter with 3–4 years of professional experience writing for the web. You'll join our creative team writing website copy, blog content, and multi-channel campaigns for medical and aesthetic practice clients — content that has to do two jobs at once: persuade the person reading it, and satisfy the systems deciding whether they ever see it. That means real fluency in SEO, plus a working curiosity about AEO — structuring content so AI search summaries, chatbots, and voice assistants surface and cite it accurately. You'll work from structured creative briefs, adapt voice and format across a diverse client base, and collaborate with our design and video teams on campaigns that span all three. This role calls for an excellent communicator who's comfortable uncovering client goals and brand messaging while working closely with the rest of the creative and client-facing team. *Candidates must reside in California, Arizona, Michigan, Washington, Colorado, or Georgia. Why should you choose Etna? • We live our values • Flexible and remote work culture that supports work / life balance • Progressive paid time off system where taking vacations and time off is encouraged • Our people • Everyone’s favorite part of working here is the people they work with • We are scrappy, curious problem-solvers • We are considerate, fair, good humans • We are fun and pun-loving, passionate about what we do • We are tenacious, committed, life-long learners • We care for our people • We invest time – 10% of our time is spent in learning • We invest resources – leaders devote 25% of their time to team member personal development • And we provide uncommonly good benefits • 100% employer-sponsored medical coverage • A 401(K) plan with an employer matching component • Employer-sponsored long-term disability insurance Why should Etna choose you? Because our small agency has made a big name for itself in the medical marketing space, our clients expect and truly deserve the attention of an experienced professional with: • Experienced writing for the web, with 3–4 years applying SEO in a professional setting • Curious about AEO and eager to learn or sharpen it • Grounded in editorial writing — magazine, digital publication, or brand journalism — with the voice and narrative instincts to make educational content worth reading to the end • Tuned in to what’s trending in beauty, from aesthetic treatments to skincare, and able to turn emerging trends into timely, credible content • Skilled at finding the story — asking sharp questions, interviewing experts, and shaping what you learn into an angle an editor would run • Able to write persuasive, brand-driven copy that still respects SEO and AEO's structural rules — craft, not just compliance • Comfortable turning a creative brief into finished copy without losing the client's voice • Ad copywriting experience is a plus — the discipline of saying more in fewer words translates directly into sharp, high-converting H1s and H2s • Preferably experienced in healthcare, science, or medical copywriting • A stickler for grammar, spelling, and efficient use of language • An excellent, versatile writer across formats — web pages, blogs, email, and social • A creative and compelling storyteller • Energetic and forward-thinking about how people find and consume content online • A resourceful problem solver • A supportive team player • Gifted at understanding, enhancing, and developing brands • Excellent at time management and organization We will ask the most compelling candidates to complete an at-home design skills test; exceptional performance on the test will earn you an interview.
