Job description
About us:
Working at Tech Holding isn't just a job, it's an opportunity to be a part of something bigger. We are a full-service consulting firm that was founded on the premise of delivering predictable outcomes and high-quality solutions to our clients. Our founders and team members have industry experience and have held senior positions in a wide variety of companies – from emerging startups to large Fortune 50 firms – and we have taken our combined experiences and developed a unique approach that is supported by the principles of deep expertise, integrity, transparency, and dependability. The Role:
We are looking for a Technical Lead for a project assignment to provide hands-on technical leadership for a distributed engineering team across Los Angeles, Mexico, and India. This role is based onsite in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), with regular travel to client and partner sites across the LA area as business needs require. You will lead the technical direction and day-to-day execution of the engineering team while remaining actively involved in architecture, development, code reviews, and solving complex technical problems. The environment is built primarily on TypeScript, Node.js, and the cloud, with a strong emphasis on AI-assisted development and on building AI capabilities into both the engineering workflow and the products we build. We are looking for someone who understands how modern AI tools can improve software engineering and is comfortable helping a team adopt them thoughtfully. Experience with tools such as Claude is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership for engineering teams across Los Angeles, Mexico, and India
Own technical direction, architecture decisions, engineering standards, and implementation strategy
Remain hands-on with development using TypeScript and Node.js
Design and build scalable cloud-based applications and services
Lead technical design discussions and translate business and product requirements into practical engineering solutions
Review code, provide technical guidance, and help engineers solve complex development challenges
Coordinate development across distributed teams and ensure alignment on priorities, architecture, standards, and delivery expectations
Partner closely with product, delivery, client stakeholders, and other engineering leaders
Identify technical risks and dependencies early and drive them to resolution
Improve engineering practices around code quality, testing, deployment, observability, and maintainability
Drive the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality
Identify and deliver opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into applications, workflows, and internal engineering processes
Mentor engineers and raise the overall technical capability of the team
Required Skills:
Strong experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Software Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer with technical leadership responsibilities
Strong hands-on development experience with TypeScript and Node.js
Experience designing and delivering production applications on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Hands-on experience using AI coding and development tools (e.g., Claude) in day-to-day engineering
Experience implementing AI or LLM-powered functionality in applications
Strong understanding of modern application architecture, APIs, cloud services, and distributed systems
Experience leading or coordinating engineers across multiple locations or time zones
Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with technical leadership and team coordination
Strong code review, debugging, architecture, and problem-solving skills
Experience working directly with product, delivery, and business stakeholders
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear technical direction to distributed teams
Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities and technical requirements may evolve
Nice to have:
Experience using Claude or similar AI coding and development tools
Experience implementing AI or LLM-powered functionality within production applications
Familiarity with AI development patterns, APIs, agents, or developer tooling
Experience leading teams distributed across the US, Mexico, and India
Consulting or client-facing engineering experience
Location:
Onsite in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA), 4 days per week, with travel to client and partner sites across the LA area as needed.
Employment type:
Full-Time
Salary Range:
$150,000 – $180,000 USD Annually (depending on experience) + Benefits
