Job Title: Senior Security Automation Engineer. Location: Remote (U.S. — EST or CST only). Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff — No C2C or 1099). About the Opportunity: ZipStaff is seeking a Senior Security Automation Engineer to design and implement security automation at a major pharmacy and healthcare organization. You will automate Akamai origin lockdown, WAF and edge controls, certificate and secrets lifecycle, and perimeter policy using Terraform, APIs, and CI/CD. This is not a pure Akamai portal role and not a project-coordinator role. What You’ll Do: • Design and implement automation for Akamai origin lockdown, perimeter modernization, and security platforms. • Build and maintain Terraform for security configuration, policy enforcement, and platform provisioning. • Develop reusable frameworks, APIs, and services in Python, Java, or Go. • Integrate controls across Akamai, F5, Palo Alto, DNS, network, cloud, and platform teams. • Automate deployment and lifecycle of WAF, origin lockdown, TLS, certificates, and secrets. • Build CI/CD and GitHub Actions for Secure SDLC, security-as-code, and policy validation. • Support secure solutions on GCP, Kubernetes, and GKE. • Own design, code review, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. • Mentor others and drive adoption of reusable automation. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years application security, Secure SDLC, web and API security, WAF, edge security, Akamai security controls, origin lockdown, and TLS / certificate security. • 5+ years Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, security-as-code, configuration and policy automation, automated testing, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD. • 5+ years Python, and Java or Go, plus REST API development, microservices, and cross-platform integration. • 4+ years GCP, Kubernetes, GKE, container security, and production support. • 4+ years cloud and enterprise networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, proxies, F5, or Palo Alto. • 3+ years secrets management and certificate lifecycle automation. • U.S. Citizen or Green Card only. No sponsorship • Reside in and work EST or CST hours. • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications: • Akamai, F5, Palo Alto, or DNS APIs and centralized orchestration. • AI-assisted security automation or LLM integration. • Healthcare or another regulated industry.
