● Train employees on department-specific processes, procedures, systems, and workflow expectations.
● Demonstrate proper workflow before allowing employees to perform tasks independently.
● Utilize a combination of classroom instruction, demonstrations, hands-on training, observation, and supervised production work.
● Coordinate side-by-side training when a new employee requires additional support or department-specific coaching.
● Ensure employees understand how their work impacts downstream departments and the overall pharmacy operation.
● Reinforce the importance of accuracy, patient safety, turnaround time, productivity, compliance, and customer service.
Systems and Technology
● Coordinate with appropriate departments to ensure new employees receive required system access and credentials.
● Verify that employees can successfully access required systems before being released to their department.
● Assist with training on pharmacy and operational systems used in the employee's assigned department.
● Identify system-access or technology issues that could delay onboarding and escalate them appropriately.
● Ensure employees understand basic system workflows before beginning independent production.
Training Documentation and Accountability

● Document areas where additional training or remediation is required.
● Communicate onboarding progress and concerns to department managers and Operations leadership.
