Job description

At Coram AI, we’re reimagining video security for the modern world. Our cloud-native platform uses computer vision and AI to help businesses stay safe, make smarter decisions, and move faster; from real-time alerts to seamless clip sharing and multi-site visibility. You’ll be joining an ambitious, fast-moving team that values clarity, craftsmanship, and impact. Every person here has a voice, ships meaningful work, and helps shape how AI can make the world safer and more connected. The role: - Own the design vision and quality bar for an AI-native video security platform used by security and operations teams to monitor, investigate, and respond to real-world incidents - Turn complex workflows (live video, AI detections, multi-site operations, access control, and incident response) into intuitive, high-confidence product experiences - Work as a player-coach, staying hands-on in the design work while building and leading the team that will scale with us - Hire exceptional designers, set the standards and rituals they work by, and help them grow into strong product thinkers - Partner closely with product and engineering leadership, speak directly with customers, and shape how design influences product strategy across the company - Suit a systems-minded design leader who enjoys solving technically complex B2B problems and building a team from the ground up in an early-stage environment Responsibilities: - Set the product design vision and strategy for Coram AI, and own the quality and consistency of the experience across desktop and mobile - Build the design team from the ground up: define the roles we need, run hiring, and attract and close top design talent - Lead, mentor, and develop designers through regular feedback, design critiques, and clear career growth paths - Establish the design processes, rituals, and standards that let the team move quickly without sacrificing craft - Stay hands-on with key product areas, including natural language video search, custom AI alert setup, interactive camera walls, and incident deep-dive investigations - Guide the design of critical operations like multi-site security oversight, role-based access control, visitor management, and emergency response coordination - Own and evolve Coram AI's UI component library and design system in Figma to ensure speed, accessibility, and visual consistency at scale - Champion user research and make sure the team talks directly with security operators, IT directors, and facility leaders to understand workflows and validate solutions - Partner with product and engineering leadership on roadmap planning, prioritisation, and how design shapes product direction We're on a mission to transform a $50B+ legacy industry by bringing the power of cutting-edge multimodal LLMs and computer vision to real-world security and operations. From firearm detection to intelligent access control, our AI-native platform turns every camera and sensor into a smart system that enhances safety, efficiency, and awareness. Founded by Ashesh Jain (ex-Lyft Level 5, PhD Cornell) and Peter Ondruska (ex-Lyft, PhD Oxford), Coram AI is backed by Ansa Capital, Battery Ventures, Mosaic, 8VC and Up Partners, have raised over $65M, and were named to the CB Insights AI 100 as one of the most promising AI companies in the world. If you're excited to work on mission-critical AI that makes an impact in the real world, we’d love to meet you.
