ABOUT HELIOS
Helios is building a new kind of company to solve America’s hardest problems, starting with the government interaction layer.
Government shapes every consequential market, but the infrastructure connecting public institutions and private organizations remains fragmented, manual, and difficult to navigate. Helios is rebuilding that layer.
Our core platform, Proxi, gives organizations the intelligence they need to understand what government is doing, why it matters, and what to do next. From that foundation, we design and deploy secure, mission-specific systems for government agencies, enterprises, and institutions operating in complex and highly regulated environments.
We bring together frontier AI, deep public-sector expertise, and forward-deployed execution. Our team includes leaders and builders from the White House, U.S. Department of State, Datadog, and Microsoft. We are backed by leading institutional investors and trusted by organizations working on high-stakes problems across government and industry.
THE ROLE
Helios is looking for an experienced Enterprise Account Executive to build and close strategic commercial relationships for Proxi and our broader offerings. Your primary focus will be Fortune 500 companies and other large enterprises whose decisions depend on understanding government, policy, regulation, and market change.
You have successfully sold enterprise intelligence, information services, or SaaS into complex organizations. You know how to earn the attention of senior decision-makers, translate a platform into a compelling business case, and move a deal from a first conversation through procurement and a signed agreement. You bring a relevant network, a record of quota attainment, and the discipline to build pipeline beyond your existing relationships.
This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role with ownership of the full sales cycle. You will work closely with the founding, product, and delivery teams to turn customer priorities into revenue and help build a repeatable enterprise sales motion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and execute account plans for Fortune 500 and other large enterprises, prioritizing organizations where policy and regulatory intelligence can support consequential business decisions.
- Generate qualified pipeline through targeted outbound, your professional network, referrals, partnerships, and inbound opportunities. Own new-logo revenue and your sales target.
- Engage senior leaders across government affairs, public policy, regulatory affairs, legal, strategy, and related business functions. Build relationships with champions, economic buyers, and executive sponsors.
- Lead discovery, tailored demonstrations, business-case development, proposals, negotiation, and close. Connect Helios’s capabilities to the customer’s workflow, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
- Navigate complex buying committees, budget cycles, procurement, legal review, security diligence, and contracting. Maintain momentum across multiple stakeholders and establish clear next steps.
- Structure pilots and evaluations with agreed success criteria, executive sponsorship, and a defined path to a commercial agreement. Coordinate delivery commitments with the teams responsible for fulfilling them.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline coverage, forecasts, and deal plans. Surface risks early and bring rigor to qualification and forecasting.
- Partner with product and delivery teams on customer handoffs, adoption, and expansion opportunities. Turn market feedback into actionable input on positioning, packaging, and product priorities.
- Adapt the sales approach when appropriate for government affairs practices at large law firms and small to mid-sized businesses, including venture-backed startups, while keeping enterprise acquisition the core priority.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Substantial experience in quota-carrying B2B sales, including a demonstrated record of winning Fortune 500 or similarly complex enterprise accounts.
- Consistent quota attainment and evidence of personally sourcing, advancing, and closing material enterprise contracts through long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Experience selling policy or regulatory intelligence, enterprise information services, or comparable SaaS and data platforms to senior business leaders.
- An established network relevant to enterprise government affairs, public policy, regulatory, legal, or strategy teams, with the ability to build new executive relationships.
- Strong consultative discovery, business writing, presentation, negotiation, and commercial judgment. You can explain a technical platform in terms of the customer’s priorities and expected value.
- Fluency in enterprise buying processes, stakeholder mapping, CRM discipline, and forecasting. You distinguish interest from a qualified buying process.
- Comfort operating in an early-stage company: building pipeline yourself, improving the playbook, collaborating across functions, and owning results without a large support organization.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS
- Selling into government affairs practices at large law firms or serving smaller businesses and venture-backed startups with different budgets and buying processes.
- Building an enterprise sales motion at an early-stage company, including refining customer profiles, messaging, pricing, or packaging.
- Working with AI-enabled intelligence products, regulated industries, or customers at the intersection of public policy and commercial strategy.
WORKING AT HELIOS
This is a full-time, hybrid role with at least three days per week in our New York City office and travel to customers in your market segments. Travel may include Washington, D.C., other customer locations, and company events.
Certain customer engagements may require background checks, security reviews, access approvals, or eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance. Some projects may be subject to U.S. citizenship or other customer-specific access requirements.
Helios is a fast-moving startup with ambitious goals. This is not a conventional 9-to-5 role. We expect flexibility during important customer moments, product launches, and other company-critical work. In return, this role offers unusual ownership, direct access to consequential institutions, and the opportunity to help build a company at an early and consequential stage.
HOW WE WORK
- Own outcomes, not just assigned tasks. Identify what needs to happen and drive it through completion.
- Move quickly without lowering the standard. Speed and rigor are complementary.
- Stay close to the mission and the user. The best decisions begin with the real problem.
- Work across boundaries. Everyone contributes beyond the narrow limits of a job title.
- Communicate directly. We value clear thinking, honest feedback, and low-ego collaboration.
- Build for the real world. Our systems must perform in complex, regulated, and high-stakes environments.
COMPENSATION
Base salary: $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
On-target earnings: $240,000 to $300,000 per year, comprising base salary plus an equal amount of target variable compensation at 100% quota attainment. Commissions are uncapped, with accelerators for performance above quota.
Meaningful equity and company benefits. The final offer within the range will depend on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications. Variable compensation is governed by a written commission plan.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
Helios is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate candidates based on their abilities, experience, and potential to contribute to our mission. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law.
