The Opportunity:
What if your technical expertise could help federal agencies better serve millions of Americans?
As a Senior Pre-Sales Engineer at TSPi, you will have the opportunity to turn complex mission challenges into innovative technology solutions that can make a meaningful difference in people's lives. You will work at the intersection of emerging technology, federal missions, and innovation, helping customers envision and implement new approaches to some of their most pressing challenges.
Imagine helping the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) explore how AI and advanced data analytics could strengthen program integrity efforts, identify potential fraud, waste, and abuse, and protect critical healthcare resources. Or partnering with teams supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to design modern data solutions that could improve access to services, streamline benefits processes, and enhance the experience of veterans who rely on those programs.
These are examples of the types of mission challenges you could help address at TSPi.
In this role, you won't simply respond to technical requirements. You'll help shape what's possible. You'll engage with federal customers early in their decision-making process, uncover complex challenges, and design compelling technical solutions. From architecting innovative approaches to building demonstrations, proofs of concept, prototypes, and pilots, you'll help bring ideas to life and show customers how emerging technologies can transform the way they deliver on their missions.
We're looking for a technically accomplished problem solver with deep expertise in AI engineering, data engineering, and/or modern data platforms who enjoys working directly with customers. You'll have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge, creativity, and communication skills to influence technology strategies, shape new opportunities, and help expand TSPi's impact across the federal landscape.
Job Duties:
• Partner directly with federal customers to explore complex mission challenges and identify opportunities to improve programs, services, and operations through innovative technology solutions.
• Lead technical discovery conversations to understand customer needs, uncover underlying challenges, and translate mission objectives into actionable technology strategies.
• Architect and design solutions leveraging AI, data engineering, modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and other emerging capabilities.
• Develop compelling demonstrations, prototypes, proofs of concept, and pilots that bring technical solutions to life and demonstrate their potential impact.
• Explore applications of emerging technologies to federal health challenges, including healthcare program integrity, fraud detection, benefits administration, data modernization, and improved service delivery.
• Engage with customers early in the opportunity lifecycle, including before formal procurements or RFPs, to help shape technical approaches and inform future investments.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling solutions that demonstrate measurable mission and business value to technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, data scientists, subject matter experts, growth leaders, and capture teams to develop innovative, technically sound solutions.
• Provide technical expertise throughout customer engagement, solution development, capture activities, proposals, and oral presentations.
• Develop reusable technical solutions, accelerators, demonstrations, and proof points that can support multiple customers and mission areas.
• Incorporate data security, privacy, governance, interoperability, accessibility, and responsible AI considerations into technical solution design.
• Stay current on emerging technologies, federal technology priorities, and industry innovations to identify opportunities for new solutions and capabilities.
Experience:
• 10+ years of relevant professional experience in technology engineering, solution engineering, technical consulting, architecture, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience applying technology within health, healthcare, federal health, insurance, claims, benefits, or another closely related environment.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more of the following: AI engineering, data engineering, data platforms, cloud or platform engineering, software development, or technical architecture.
• Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or comparable technologies, and leading cloud providers including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience designing, architecting, or developing technology solutions that address complex customer and mission requirements.
• Experience engaging directly with customers to conduct technical discovery, identify opportunities, and recommend innovative solutions.
• Experience developing and presenting demonstrations, proofs of concept, prototypes, or pilots.
• Experience contributing technical expertise to capture, proposals, customer solutioning, or oral presentations.
• Experience working within complex, highly regulated, or mission-driven environments.
Required Skills:
• Deep technical expertise in AI engineering, data engineering, data platforms, or a closely related technical discipline.
• Strong independent problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex, ambiguous challenges.
• Ability to translate customer mission objectives and operational challenges into practical, scalable technical solutions.
• Strong technical discovery skills, including the ability to ask insightful questions, uncover customer needs, and identify opportunities for technology-enabled transformation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and articulate mission and business value to diverse audiences.
• Ability to independently develop or lead the development of demonstrations, proofs of concept, prototypes, and other technical proof points.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical, growth, capture, consulting, and subject matter expert teams.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, governance, and related considerations for deploying technology in regulated environments.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with evolving customer needs and priorities.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field preferred.
