Job Description:
Joining The American Red Cross is like nothing else – it’s as much something you feel as something you do. You become a vital part of the world’s largest humanitarian network. Joining a team of welcoming individuals who are exceptional, yet unassuming. Diverse, yet uncompromising in unity. You grow your career within a movement that matters, where success is measured in people helped, communities made whole, and individuals equipped to never stop changing lives and situations for the better.
When you choose to be a force for good, you’ll have mentors who empower your growth along a purposeful career path. You align your life’s work with an ongoing mission that’s bigger than all of us. As you care for others, you’re cared for with competitive compensation and benefits. You join a community that respects who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work.
Where Your Career is a Force for Good!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):
The Regional Director of Communications serves as a key leader and storyteller for the American Red Cross in the Colorado-Wyoming Region — shaping strategy, amplifying impact, and inspiring action across one of the nation’s most active humanitarian regions. Based in Denver, this role drives the communications and marketing functions that advance regional business objectives, elevate public understanding of the American Red Cross mission, and strengthen volunteer engagement and revenue generation.
In partnership with the Regional CEO and Division Communications Director, you’ll develop and execute bold, creative strategies that connect people to purpose, telling stories that move hearts and minds while ensuring communities know how to access vital Red Cross services. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across every line of service including: Field Marketing, Fundraising, Disaster Cycle Services, Service to the Armed Forces, Blood Services, Training Services, and Volunteer Services and chapter operations to ensure a unified, powerful regional voice.
You’ll lead and mentor both staff and volunteers, building a communications team that shines in times of calm and crisis alike. From guiding media strategy to shaping internal culture, you’ll help define how the Red Cross shows up for our team, our partners, and the communities we serve daily.
This is more than a communications role. It’s an opportunity to lead with purpose, inspire connection, and tell the stories of humanity, hope, and resilience that define the American Red Cross every day.
