Job description

ABOUT CLAIM HEALTH Claim Health is the AI Revenue Platform for Post-Acute Care. Post-acute care is one of the largest and fastest-growing sectors in healthcare, yet the operational infrastructure powering it is fragmented, manual, and reactive. Providers operate across disconnected systems, human-heavy workflows, and high-stakes operational processes that directly impact patient access and financial performance. Claim Health is building the adaptive operational layer for post-acute care - a platform that unifies data, automates execution, and enables intelligent coordination across revenue-critical workflows. We work directly inside some of the most operationally complex healthcare organizations in the country, helping them modernize the systems that power care delivery. THE ROLE We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer operations. This is not traditional solutions engineering or implementation consulting. You’ll work directly with customers to understand how real operational systems break, then build production-grade software that solves those problems at the root. Half of your job is deeply technical execution across the stack. The other half is embedding with customers, translating operational complexity into scalable product systems. You will shape both: - How Claim Health’s platform evolves - How entire product lines are defined and brought to market Forward Deployed Engineers at Claim Health are builders first. You will write production code, own deployments, design workflows, and create new abstractions that become core parts of the platform. You’ll spend time inside real healthcare operations (intake teams, billing workflows, authorization queues, reconciliation processes) then turn that operational reality into software. This role is ideal for someone who wants maximum ownership, customer proximity, and the opportunity to define entirely new categories of workflow automation. WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE BUILD PRODUCTION SYSTEMS - Ship full-stack product capabilities directly into production - Build workflow orchestration systems, internal tooling, and customer-facing interfaces - Design resilient systems that coordinate complex operational processes - Work across frontend, backend, infra, integrations, and AI systems EMBED DIRECTLY WITH CUSTOMERS - Work closely with operators, billing teams, executives, and frontline staff - Observe operational workflows firsthand and identify systemic bottlenecks - Lead implementations and deployments within large healthcare organizations - Translate ambiguous customer pain points into scalable product primitives SHAPE PRODUCT DIRECTION - Define entirely new product lines from customer insight and operational patterns - Create abstractions that generalize across fragmented healthcare systems - Influence roadmap prioritization through direct field exposure - Partner with engineering and GTM to rapidly iterate on high-leverage workflows OWN OUTCOMES END-TO-END - Diagnose failures in messy real-world environments - Build automation that removes operational burden at scale - Ensure systems are observable, reliable, and correct under real constraints - Operate with urgency while maintaining high engineering standards HOW CLAIM HEALTH ENGINEERING WORKS We believe the best engineers are deeply connected to the problems they solve. At Claim Health: - Engineers talk directly to customers - Product direction emerges from operational reality - We optimize for speed, ownership, and leverage - We care deeply about correctness and reliability - We build systems, not demos - We prioritize durable abstractions over temporary fixes There is no strict separation between engineering, product, implementation, or strategy. The people building the platform are the same people defining how it evolves. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We care more about slope, ownership, and systems thinking than specific technologies. You likely have: - Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals - Comfort operating across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and data systems - Experience working directly with customers or operational stakeholders - The ability to move fluidly between technical depth and business context You thrive if you: - Enjoy ambiguous, high-ownership environments - Like understanding how real organizations operate - Can deconstruct operational chaos into software systems - Care deeply about reliability, edge cases, and product quality - Prefer solving root problems over patching symptoms - Want to shape products, not just execute tickets - Are energized by customer interaction rather than isolated implementation work BONUS (NOT REQUIRED) - Experience with workflow orchestration systems - Background in AI agents, automation, or integration platforms - Experience deploying AI-powered systems in production - Exposure to healthcare, fintech, logistics, or other operationally complex industries - Experience working in highly customer-embedded engineering roles WHY JOIN CLAIM HEALTH BUILD THE OPERATING LAYER FOR A MASSIVE INDUSTRY Healthcare operations are still largely manual. We’re building the infrastructure layer that modernizes how post-acute care organizations operate. HIGH OWNERSHIP You will directly influence product direction, architecture, and company trajectory from an early stage. REAL PROBLEMS, REAL STAKES The systems we build affect revenue cycles, operational efficiency, and ultimately patient access to care. TIGHT FEEDBACK LOOPS You’ll work directly with end users and see the impact of your work immediately. ELITE TEAM, LOW EGO We value intellectual honesty, speed, craftsmanship, and people who care deeply about building. FAST PACE, HIGH LEVERAGE Small team. Extremely high ownership. Very little bureaucracy. FUN We take the work seriously, not ourselves. One of the most important things we screen for is whether we genuinely enjoy working with you.

Requirements

Must-haves

We’re looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to operate at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer operations.
This is not traditional solutions engineering or implementation consulting.
How Claim Health’s platform evolves
How entire product lines are defined and brought to market
Forward Deployed Engineers at Claim Health are builders first.
Ship full-stack product capabilities directly into production
Build workflow orchestration systems, internal tooling, and customer-facing interfaces
Design resilient systems that coordinate complex operational processes
Work across frontend, backend, infra, integrations, and AI systems
Work closely with operators, billing teams, executives, and frontline staff
Observe operational workflows firsthand and identify systemic bottlenecks
Lead implementations and deployments within large healthcare organizations
Translate ambiguous customer pain points into scalable product primitives
Define entirely new product lines from customer insight and operational patterns
Create abstractions that generalize across fragmented healthcare systems
Influence roadmap prioritization through direct field exposure
Partner with engineering and GTM to rapidly iterate on high-leverage workflows
Diagnose failures in messy real-world environments
Build automation that removes operational burden at scale
Ensure systems are observable, reliable, and correct under real constraints
Operate with urgency while maintaining high engineering standards
We believe the best engineers are deeply connected to the problems they solve.
