The VP, Product Marketing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for defining and driving how Billtrust’s solutions are positioned, messaged, and brought to market. You will leverage AI tools and co-worker agents to accelerate competitive intelligence, campaign narrative development, and go-to-market execution, focusing you & your team’s expertise on the market insight, strategic judgment, and cross-functional alignment that only a seasoned leader can provide.
This role reports into the CMO and sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Marketing, translating complex AR and fintech capabilities into differentiated compelling stories that win in the market. You will own the product marketing function end-to-end, from buyer and market research to product launches, sales enablement, competitive intelligence and analyst relations, and build an AI-powered team that sets the standard for speed, quality, and impact across Billtrust’s go-to-market engine. A central part of this mandate is overhauling how Billtrust launches products: building a launch discipline that creates genuine market moments, ones that shift how buyers and analysts frame the problem, reposition the competitive landscape, and make it unmistakably clear why Billtrust is different.
Who You Are
Here’s what we’re building at Billtrust—and it gets you fired up: A brand that earns attention instead of fighting for it. A market position built on genuine expertise, not noise. Stories that make buyers feel understood before they ever talk to Sales.
You’re a seasoned product marketing leader with deep expertise in positioning complex B2B solutions, and a growing obsession with what becomes possible when AI removes the old constraints on speed, scale, and insight. You don’t just craft messaging; you build the frameworks, systems, and team capabilities that make great messaging repeatable. You have strong opinions about how markets move and what buyers actually care about, and you back those opinions with data, customer evidence, and competitive rigor. You’re decisive when it counts and collaborative by design, the person Sales trusts to arm them and Product trusts to translate them. You lead with high EQ and self-awareness, which means your team performs and your cross-functional partnerships hold up under pressure. The pace of change in AI-powered marketing doesn’t unsettle you, it’s where you see your biggest opportunity to do the best work of your career. In a PE-backed environment where ambition is resourced and results are expected, that’s exactly where you want to be.
What You’ll Do

Define and own Billtrust’s product positioning, messaging architecture, and value proposition framework across the full AR lifecycle portfolio, ensuring differentiation in a competitive fintech landscape.

Establish an AI-accelerated launch playbook that enables the team to produce launch assets, battlecards, and segment-specific messaging at a fraction of traditional timelines, without sacrificing the strategic quality or narrative cohesion that makes a launch land.
Develop and maintain buyer personas, customer journey maps, and segment-specific messaging for Billtrust’s key verticals, informed by customer interviews, win/loss analysis, and data-driven insights.
Sales Enablement & Revenue Impact
