Job description

Zscaler (NASDAQ: ZS) accelerates digital transformation so customers can be more agile, efficient, resilient, and secure. The Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange platform protects thousands of customers from cyberattacks and data loss by securely connecting users, devices, and applications in any location. Distributed across 200+ public data centers globally and thousands of private sites at the edge, the SASE-based Zero Trust Exchange is the world’s largest in-line cloud security platform. We believe the future of work is Human + AI and are building an AI-native enterprise where human potential is amplified by machine intelligence to solve the world’s hardest security challenges. Driven by deep customer obsession, we are committed to the mission, outcome, and to each other. We bring these commitments to life through three core behaviors: ownership and collaboration, trust through outcomes and impact, and a challenge culture with ongoing feedback. Ready to make an impact at the company pioneering security transformation in the AI era? Join us at Zscaler. We are looking for a strategic, results-oriented Business Strategy leader to join our team, reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In this role, you will serve as a key strategic partner and operational catalyst—helping align our global marketing organization, optimize team performance, and translate strategic vision into execution. You will act as a central hub for cross-functional collaboration, ensuring brand, demand generation, and pipeline health strategies are seamlessly integrated to drive sustained growth. What You’ll Do (Role Expectations) Partner with the CMO on Global Strategy & Annual Planning: Collaborate with the CMO to define, communicate, and track global marketing priorities. Lead integrated annual operating planning cycles in partnership with Finance and HR while establishing clear metrics to monitor progress via executive dashboards. Drive Alignment Across Key Strategic Initiatives: Serve as the central coordinator for high-impact business moments and strategic initiatives. Proactively identify and resolve operational gaps, monitor pipeline health, and track outcomes to ensure organizational success. Manage Executive Rhythm & Performance Read-Outs: Lead the operational cadence of the marketing organization—including Marketing Leadership Team (MLT) meetings, quarterly offsites, Board of Directors preparation, QBRs, and marketing scorecards. Analyze key performance data to empower executive decision-making and provide clear visibility into team impact. Lead Executive & Organizational Communications: Direct internal communications strategies (including the Marketing Pulse newsletter, Marketing All-Hands, weekly leadership updates, and bi-annual stakeholder pulse surveys) to foster transparency, trust, and organizational alignment. Facilitate Cross-Functional GTM Collaboration: Act as a strategic liaison between Marketing, Product, and broader Go-To-Market (GTM) teams. Strengthen feedback loops, resolve cross-functional bottlenecks, and ensure clear follow-through on shared commitments. Who You Are (Success Profile) You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful. You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. True ownership involves leveraging dynamic range: the ability to navigate seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. You are a problem-solver. You love running towards the challenges because you are laser-focused on finding the solution, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact. You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust. You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and are obsessed with your own development, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose. What We’re Looking For (Qualifications) 7+ years of progressive experience in business strategy, marketing operations, product marketing, or cross-functional leadership within tech, SaaS, or complex matrixed business environments. Proven track record of leading annual operating planning, cross-functional governance, and organizational rhythm for multi-disciplinary GTM teams. Strong analytical capabilities with experience synthesizing performance data into clear, actionable executive presentations and recommendations. Outstanding communication, facilitation, and project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and align diverse stakeholder groups. Active interest or experience in leveraging modern AI tools and digital productivity platforms to streamline workflows and augment strategic decision-making. What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Deep understanding of the modern SaaS marketing engine (including brand, internal/external communications, demand generation, and pipeline dynamics). Proactive mindset with a history of anticipating organizational needs, eliminating operational friction, and driving execution in a growth-oriented environment. Strong AI fluency, including experience using Generative AI platforms and LLMs to accelerate data synthesis, solution design, and automated workflows. We encourage candidates to apply even if they do not meet 100% of the listed qualifications.
