Job description

ABOUT MEADOW Meadow is the modern payments platform for higher education that simplifies the entire student financial experience. We're transforming the $600 Billion higher education payments industry in the United States — building for universities what Shopify built for retail businesses, and bringing the entire student financial experience online. The need for a platform like Meadow has never been greater. If you're passionate about our mission to empower students financially and strengthen economic mobility through higher education — and you're excited to join a highly ambitious, talented team — we'd love to hear from you. ABOUT THE ROLE OVERVIEW As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Meadow, you'll play a pivotal role in creating qualified opportunities for Meadow’s Account Executives. If you're eager to make an impact and passionate about playing a key role in defining Meadow’s presence across the world's leading higher education institutions, this role is for you. This is a full-time position reporting to Ryan linkedin.com, Meadow's Director of Business Development. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Prospect Identification and Outreach: You'll conduct research to identify potential leads and initiate outreach through various channels — including phone calls, emails, and social media — to introduce Meadow's student financial engagement solution. - Lead Qualification: You'll assess the needs and requirements of prospects to determine their fit as potential customers. - Engagement and Relationship Building: You'll engage with prospects to understand their pain points, educate them on our solutions, and nurture relationships to move them through the sales funnel. - Appointment Setting: You'll schedule meetings for Meadow’s Account Executives, ensuring a seamless handover of leads. You will have a monthly quota. - Documentation and Reporting: You'll maintain accurate records of interactions in Hubspot, track lead progress, and generate regular reports on key metrics and performance. ABOUT YOU WHAT YOU BRING - Inclination for Selling: You're hungry and goal-oriented. You're excited about taking on a quota-carrying role and interested in pursuing a career in Sales. - Grit & Resilience: You're persistent. You're willing to try and try again (and again). - Resourcefulness: You find creative ways to get things done with what you have. - Coachability: You solicit feedback, receive it well, and quickly incorporate it into your work. - Verbal & Written Communication Skills: You express ideas clearly and concisely to stakeholders at every level. - Self-Management & Organization: You manage your time well and follow through on your commitments. WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT - AI Fluency: You use AI to operate at a meaningfully higher level. You're thoughtful about outcomes, aware of limitations, and continuously improving how you use AI. - Interest in Early-Stage Startups: Startups don’t scare you. You thrive when you need to build. - Mission Orientation: You see Sales as an opportunity to help others, and you're passionate about the impact Meadow can have on society. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Meadow wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to compensation and benefits. The initial annual On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this position is expected to be $70,000-$90,000 (OTE = 60% Base Salary + 40% Commission), with the opportunity to exceed OTE through strong performance in the role. This range represents the low and high end for a position based in San Francisco, CA.
