Job description

PRODUCT DESIGNER Pi.Security · San Francisco, CA · Full-time · Onsite, 5 days a week ABOUT PI.SECURITY Pi is building an agentic product security platform for teams that need to secure software at the speed they build it. Modern development is accelerating, but security knowledge is still scattered across code, tickets, documents, incidents, reviews, and the people who remember why decisions were made. Pi turns that context into institutional security memory, helping teams triage faster, remediate in context, prevent repeat vulnerability classes, and embed security guardrails where engineering work already happens. We are building for a future where security is not a blocker at the end of the development process. It is part of how software gets designed, reviewed, shipped, and improved. Pi was recognized on Fast Company's 2026 Next Big Things in Tech fastcompany.com list and covered by Forbes forbes.com! ABOUT THE ROLE We're hiring a Product Designer to help shape the product experience for Pi's agentic security platform at an early, pivotal stage. You'll work closely with product and engineering to turn complex security workflows — findings triage, root-cause investigation, remediation review, and prevention guardrails — into interfaces that feel fast, trustworthy, and obvious to use. This is a hands-on design role: you'll be in the details of interaction and visual design day to day, working across the product as it takes shape. This role is based in our San Francisco office, five days a week. We build in person, alongside the founding team, and that is a deliberate choice. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own product design for Pi's core surfaces — findings, investigations, remediation workflows, dashboards, and the Sloane assistant experience — from early concept through shipped detail. - Turn dense, technical security and engineering context into interfaces that are fast to scan, easy to trust, and simple to act on, for both security teams and developers. - Work directly with product and engineering to translate ambiguous product direction into concrete flows, prototypes, and polished UI. - Design within and help extend the product's visual language and component patterns, partnering closely with frontend engineers who implement in React, and Next.js. - Run discovery with customers and internal stakeholders — interviews, workflow shadowing, usability testing — to ground design decisions in how security and engineering teams actually work. - Balance speed with rigor: ship quickly, but hold the line on clarity and trust for a product that security teams depend on. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 3-5+ years of product design experience, including owning complex, workflow-heavy products end to end (not just marketing sites or simple CRUD apps). - A portfolio that shows strong systems thinking — designing for information-dense, technical, or enterprise products where clarity and trust matter as much as visual polish. - Fluency in modern interaction patterns for dashboards, tables, filters, detail views, and multi-step workflows. - Comfort working directly with engineers on implementation details — you understand what's cheap and what's expensive to build, and you design accordingly. - Strong prototyping skills (Sketch preferred, Figma or equivalent) and the judgment to know when a quick sketch is enough and when a high-fidelity prototype is needed. - Experience running lightweight, fast research — customer interviews, usability tests — and translating findings into design decisions without slowing the team down. - Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous startup environment, with the judgment to know when to move fast and when to slow down (especially given the security-critical nature of the product). - Willingness and desire to work onsite in San Francisco full-time. NICE TO HAVE - Background designing for developer tools, security products, infrastructure, or other technical B2B products. - Experience contributing to or evolving a design system. - Familiarity with the frontend stack we build on (React, Next.js) or enough technical fluency to collaborate closely in it. - Prior experience as an early design hire at a startup. - Experience designing AI-assisted or agentic product experiences. SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE - Complex security workflows become simple, fast, and intuitive for the people who use them daily. - Product surfaces are polished, consistent, and easy to extend as the platform grows. - Design and engineering move in lockstep — new features ship without fragile or inconsistent UI. - Customers and internal teams trust the product to guide them to the right action, not just show them data. WHY PI Pi is backed by a $35 million Series A led by Third Point Ventures and Brightmind Partners, with support from CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz and Armis founders Yevgeny Dibrov and Nadir Izrael. Leading AI companies and enterprise innovators already rely on Pi, including xAI, Notion, Navan, Lemonade, and Teramind, and it's available through AWS Marketplace and a strategic partnership with Bugcrowd. Our founders have lived inside this problem. Guy Arazi was a security researcher at Microsoft, and Yoni Ramon led offensive security work at Tesla. You'll work closely with both. We're early enough that every hire shapes the product, the team, and how we work. You'll build alongside a humble, passionate, ambitious, and genuinely fun team that cares deeply about what we're building and about our customers. We hire for four things, and we work this way every day: - Speed. Velocity over polish. Something impactful this week beats a perfect plan for next quarter. - Depth. You go past the point of requirement. That is usually where the interesting part starts anyway. - Curiosity. The people who do best here ask the thing everyone assumed was already answered. - Ambition. We take on assumptions this industry accepts as given, and disprove them. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The base salary range for this role in San Francisco is $146,000 - $215,000 per year. This is our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay at hire. Where an offer lands depends on experience, skills, and level. Base salary is one part of total compensation, which also includes equity. - Meaningful equity in Pi.Security pi.security - Medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family, starting the 1st of the month after you join. - Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for health and dependent care - Commuter benefits - Unlimited PTO - 401(k) - Health and wellness stipend - Lunch allowance on in-office days EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Pi.Security pi.security is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
