Job description

Associate Account Executive 📍 Location: Bay Area, US 💼 Employment Type: Full-Time 🏢 Department: GTM About Us Deccan AI is a startup headquartered in the Bay Area, with offices in Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Gurgaon. We are founded by IIT Bombay, IIM Ahmedabad, and ex-Google alumni, and we work with leading AI labs — including Google DeepMind, Microsoft, Snowflake, and many more — and Enterprise teams to build high quality AI training data and AI applications. We are backed by Prosus Ventures, Susquehanna, and A91. Our workplace is not for the faint-hearted. We work hard and we work fast — many of our clients require same-day turnarounds for complex data needs. We like people who take ownership, roll up their sleeves and do. We like people who thrive in ambiguity and who can operate without titles or hierarchies. But what you'll find: tremendous learning, tremendous growth, and a motivated set of colleagues who are also fun to be around. About the Role You are more than a cold caller or "meeting fixer." As part of the GTM team at Deccan, you'll own relationships in an exciting, fast-growing market — turning cold leads into warm, qualified opportunities with some of the top AI leaders in the industry. What You'll Do • Open doors. Prospect, qualify, follow up, and convert cold leads into warm opportunities, using a mix of cold calls, LinkedIn, and email campaigns with an automation-driven approach. • Build relationships. Own business relationships end to end with key decision makers and uncover opportunities for growth and expansion. • Inspire action. Understand and uncover customer needs and business problems, and showcase executive-level prospects the Deccan AI advantage — high quality data for their models. • Communicate like a pro. You'll engage with some of the top AI leaders in the industry. Staying current with AI trends and technical content will help you speak their language and earn their trust. • Own the process. Spot inefficiencies in our sales workflows and fix them. Leverage tools and data to prospect at scale and drive efficiency. • Become a thought leader. Deepen your expertise in data for GenAI and position yourself as a trusted partner to our prospects. What We're Looking For • 2-3+ years of proven experience in sales or sales development, with a consistent record of over-achieving your goals. • You want to fast-track your sales career, not just do a sales job. • Good B2B SaaS selling experience, with the ability to go from zero to 100 on ramping up on new product technology. • Flexible, adaptive, and resilient — and above all, customer-obsessed. • Outstanding presentation and communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for technical and business audiences. Why Join Deccan AI At Deccan AI, you'll work close to the frontier of AI model training and evaluation, opening doors with some of the top AI leaders in the industry from day one. This is a high-agency role for someone who wants to fast-track a sales career — not just do a sales job. You'll learn the GenAI data market fast, sharpen your craft with real reps and real feedback, and build the track record to grow quickly within a motivated, fast-moving team. If you're energized by ambiguity, fast turnarounds, and the chance to become a trusted partner to top AI companies, we'd like to meet you.
