ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Java Software Engineer to serve as a key technical lead on the effort. In this high-impact role, you will architect, develop, and maintain a specialized fingerprinting application designed to identify cyber threat actors through SIGINT-derived behavioral signatures, operational patterns, and technical indicators. Working with modern Java 17, Spring Framework 6, and PostgreSQL, you will build robust RESTful APIs, optimize database queries, and manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines across OpenShift containerized environments. Additionally, you will bridge back-end engineering with analytics by integrating Microsoft Power BI dashboards using Power Query M and DAX to deliver actionable visualization tools directly to mission partners. If you are excited to build cutting-edge threat identification capabilities, tackle complex backend and data visualization challenges, and bring your authentic self to high-stakes defense tech, Team Nyla wants you on board! • Modern Java Architecture & Microservices: Proven expertise architecting and building back-end services using Java 17 and Spring Framework 6 (or Spring Boot). • Database Design & Optimization: Advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL database design, complex schema modeling, and SQL performance tuning. • REST API Development & Container Orchestration: Strong background designing RESTful APIs and deploying containerized applications into OpenShift or Kubernetes environments. • CI/CD Pipeline Orchestration: Practical experience building and maintaining automated build and release pipelines using GitLab CI/CD. • Data Visualization & Analytics: Hands-on experience developing Power BI solutions, utilizing Power Query M code (and DAX) to perform data transformations and package analytical visualizations. • Python Scripting: Proficiency in Python for scripting, data manipulation, and workflow automation. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 20 + years of professional software development experience OR High School Diploma / GED , PLUS 24+ years of hands-on technical software engineering experience in lieu of a degree. • Cyber Threat & Behavioral Analysis: Familiarity with SIGINT-derived technical indicators, behavioral signatures, and cyber threat actor fingerprinting techniques. • Power BI Administration: Experience administering Power BI Report Server, managing Power BI Desktop workspaces, and resolving complex dashboard ingestion issues. • Windows & Hybrid Infrastructure Support: Comfort navigating Windows enterprise environments alongside Linux/container infrastructure. • Flexible LCAT Adaptability: Ability to step into senior technical leadership responsibilities across SWE2 or SWE3 role designations.
