Our Client, a Health Insurance company, is looking for an Application Developer II – Java & SQL for their Detroit, MI/Hybrid location. Requirements: • The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in modern Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, SQL, and stored procedures, along with experience using AI-assisted coding tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation. • 3+ years of professional application development experience. • Strong hands-on development experience with Java, including modern Java versions and features. • Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem. • Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Spring Batch applications and batch-processing solutions. • Advanced knowledge of SQL, including: • Complex queries • Joins and subqueries • Query optimization and performance tuning • Developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL stored procedures. • Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services. • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, coding standards, and application architecture. • Experience with source-control and modern development practices, preferably Git/GitHub. • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants, such as GitHub Copilot or similar tools, for code generation, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and developer productivity. • Experience with unit testing, debugging, code reviews, and application troubleshooting. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments. • Core Technical Skills: • Mandatory: Java | Spring Boot | Spring Batch | SQL | Stored Procedures | REST APIs | Git/GitHub | AI Coding Tools • Experience : 3+ years of professional software/application development experience Why Should You Apply? • Health Benefits • Referral Program • Excellent growth and advancement opportunities

Requirements

Must-haves

3+ years of professional application development experience.
Strong hands-on development experience with Java, including modern Java versions and features.
Strong experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Spring Batch applications and batch-processing solutions.
