Job description

About Phonic Phonic is an audio research lab focused on powering the most realistic, human-like voice AI conversations. We’ve rethought the entire stack in pursuit of this goal, from models to product, to create voice agents that feel like they truly understand you, respond emotionally, and perform agentic tasks with frontier intelligence. Our customers build voice-native AI products in industries like customer support, healthcare, logistics, and recruiting. We’ve grown ~20x since the start of this year, and we’ve raised over $30M from tier-1 VCs, including First Round Capital, Lux Capital, and Felicis. About the Team Phonic has an extremely talent-dense and close-knit team of top-tier AI researchers, international olympiad medalists, and former founders. We work with high trust and keep raising the bar on how we deliver world-class research and product experiences. Everyone takes ownership of what they do and isn’t afraid to dive headfirst into new problems. We’re fully in person in our SF office. The Role As our first Developer Relations hire, you'll single handedly own technical content marketing, product marketing, and brand marketing at Phonic. You won't be one spoke in a big marketing org, you'll be the whole wheel. A typical day might start with editing a technical blog post the team drafted, tightening it into something sharp enough to publish that week, and then move into crafting product demos for our social accounts. What You'll Do - Write and edit technical blog posts turning drafts from the team (engineers, founders) into clean, publishable content for a technical audience - Own product marketing translating what we're building into positioning and messaging that customers and prospects immediately understand - Write and post witty, sharp content for our company social media accounts - If there's interest, you can support the sales pipeline taking on deal next steps (follow-ups, materials, coordination) to keep every deal moving with velocity What You'll Bring - Clean, coherent writing: You can take a rough draft, technical or not, and make it tight and clear - A wit and voice for social media: You write posts that are sharp and memorable, not corporate-bland - Storytelling ability: You can turn "what we built" into a compelling, coherent vision of where we're going - A degree from a top school - 2-5 years of relevant experience in technical marketing Nice to Have - Interest in sales/ops — comfortable taking deal next steps and helping close - Prior Developer Relations experience elsewhere (agencies, other startups, or larger dev-tool companies) - You don't need to be deeply technical to succeed in this role Benefits - 💸 Top-tier compensation: in order to get the best talent, we provide salary and equity that recognize your skillset - 🥗 Meals: free breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided in the office - 🩺 Healthcare: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision - 🤝 We have regular off-sites and team celebrations
