Job description

About Alloy.ai Alloy.ai is the Commerce Intelligence System for consumer brands. We unify data from 500+ sources — ERPs, retailers, ecommerce platforms, and distributors — into a single source of truth your team can bet their P&L on. Our proprietary commerce logic and AI Agents translate fragmented data into clear demand signals and prepare execution-ready actions — automatically. Sales and Supply Chain teams at brands like Liquid I.V., Crayola, and Valvoline use Alloy.ai to capture every revenue window, protect margins, and keep products on the shelf. From signal to action. Instantly. Alloy.ai is a fast-growing, well-funded startup with an expanding presence across the world. Our team hails from successful startups, leading tech companies and Fortune 100 enterprises. We believe deeply in fostering individual ownership, iterating to excellence, focusing on what matters, communicating openly & respectfully, and supporting one another. We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. Alloy.ai is committed to creating an inclusive culture, and we celebrate diversity of all kinds. The Role We're hiring a Senior Manager to support content and product marketing at Alloy: product positioning and messaging, case studies and customer proof, sales assets, campaign copy, and Alloy's organic LinkedIn and YouTube presence. That's a lot on paper, so here's the part that matters: none of it is yours to carry alone. Our VP of Marketing sets the strategy and vision across all of it, and she stays hands-on in execution with you, not handing you a brief and disappearing. There's no fixed line where her work ends and yours begins; you'll work out who's driving which asset/campaign together, as the work comes up, rather than by rigid lane. You'll also work closely with our Performance Marketer on the SEO/AEO content that needs a real writer behind it, not just a technically sound page. We have an SEO/AEO agency that produces first drafts, but this isn't a "manage the agency, skim the drafts" job. You're writing the content that matters, alongside the VP, not instead of her. The Marketing Team You Would Join We're a small, senior team that holds a high bar and ships fast. Marketing runs lean by design: three AI-pilled people, including the VP of Marketing, covering measurement, organic, paid, and content for the whole company. Every hire gets real scope on day one, because there's no one else to hand it to. Here's the thing about most B2B software marketing: it's terrified of being interesting. Every brand in retail analytics and supply chain tech reads like it was written by the same committee, in the same Helvetica font, about the same "end-to-end visibility." We are actively trying not to be that. Brand isn't a slide in our strategy deck; it's load-bearing. We want a marketing team that gets talked about, not just clicked on. Groq brought a live llama to Supercomputing. Bland converted a classic red VW Beetle into a giant telephone and drove it through key markets. Ramp put actor Brian Baumgartner — Kevin from The Office — in a glass box in Flatiron Plaza and livestreamed him processing expense reports for six hours; it pulled something like 85 million views. None of these are ours. All three are exactly the kind of thinking we want in the room: the willingness to make something people stop and film, in service of a point that's actually about the product. We're looking for someone who can tell the difference between an idea that's memorable and an idea that's just loud. Plenty of people can pitch something weird. Fewer people can pitch something weird and know exactly why it'll work, what it says about the brand, and how to make an exec sign off on it instead of quietly hoping it goes away. That instinct is the actual hiring bar here. Everything else in this posting is table stakes by comparison. This isn't a checkbox marketing team, where the win condition is "we published a blog post and ran a webinar this month." It isn't random acts of marketing either, where a stunt happens because it seemed fun and gets forgotten by the next planning cycle. Every bold idea here has to trace back to something real: a positioning point, a persona truth, a brand belief we actually hold. The llama isn't the strategy. The llama is what the strategy looks like when it has the guts to leave the brainstorm. The Work Same as above: execution here is worked out together, asset by asset. Product marketing: positioning, messaging, and competitive narrative for Alloy's product and AI Agents. Customer proof: case studies, quotes, and Replenishment-agent ROI stories, sourced from our advocacy program and mapped to buyer personas. SEO/AEO content (you write it; our Performance Marketer owns the technical program): refreshing priority buyer-query pages and writing net-new content for prompt gaps. Content library, ongoing: our full resources library (blog posts, guides, webinar recaps, and more), refreshed against a standard built for how AI answer engines actually extract and cite content, not just traditional search. Not a one-time cleanup — a recurring program, re-auditing and refreshing on a 3-6 month cadence so the library keeps compounding instead of going stale. Organic social (LinkedIn + YouTube): content calendar, scripts, captions, and what actually gets posted and when. We have a video agency that produces the video assets; you're the one deciding what gets made and making sure it lands with the right audience. Email marketing: persona-based drip/nurture campaigns and SDR outreach sequences. Sales enablement: one-pagers, talk tracks, and persona-specific content that AEs and CSMs actually use. Campaign creative: ad copy, landing page content, and creative concepts for our flagship campaigns. How We Use Claude We use Claude Cowork as a working part of the marketing function, not a side experiment we mention in interviews and never open again. We've built a library of custom skills: persona voice guides, executive voice guides for our CEO and CCO, brand voice and editorial standards, and workflows that turn a raw research session into ranked content angles and drafts. Claude handles a real share of first-draft generation (always with rich input from SMEs first!), research synthesis, and repurposing across our content — this includes drafting scripts and captions for organic social, not just long-form writing. We want someone who treats this as a force multiplier, not a threat and not a shortcut. The bar is simple: quality and quantity both go up. If you're already directing AI tools in your own process and have strong, specific opinions on where they help and where they get in the way, that's exactly the instinct we're hiring for. If you've been AI-curious without the infrastructure to really use it, you'll have more of that infrastructure here than almost anywhere else you'd land. What We're Looking For 8+ years in marketing, with real depth in product marketing and/or content marketing and creation. You know what "good" looks like before you ever open an AI tool, and you know it in your gut, not just from a swipe file. An eye for what makes a brand memorable versus forgettable, and the discernment to know which bold idea is actually great and which one is just bold. You don't need permission to have opinions about this; you need the judgment to be right more often than not. You've pitched an idea in a meeting and watched someone's face do the thing where they're not sure if you're serious, and you were. A track record of writing that converts: case studies, sales content, product positioning, or campaign copy you can point to and explain, in detail, why it worked. Real comfort writing for organic social, not just long-form. LinkedIn posts and YouTube scripts are different muscles than a blog post or a one-pager, and we need someone who already knows the difference. Working knowledge of SEO and AEO: what makes content findable in traditional search versus what makes it the thing an AI answer engine actually cites. Email/lifecycle writing experience: persona-based nurture sequences that hold someone's attention across 7 emails, not just a single strong send. You genuinely want a manager who's still in the drafts with you, not just signing off on them. If what you're looking for is a lane of your own with nobody looking over your shoulder, this isn't that role, and that's worth knowing now rather than three months in. Genuine curiosity about the rest of marketing, not just this lane of it. Hands-on comfort directing AI tools like Claude inside your actual workflow, not "I used ChatGPT for an email once." Comfort with ambiguity and lean teams. There's no layer of process standing between you and shipped work here. B2B SaaS experience is required. CPG/consumer goods experience is a strong plus, not a requirement. Why This Role You'd be joining at the point where the content and product marketing function is getting rebuilt with real infrastructure underneath it, not a blank page, and not someone else's ten years of bloat either. You'd get direct access to the VP of Marketing daily, real ownership from the start, and more AI-assisted leverage than most marketing teams have figured out how to build yet. You'd also be learning from someone who still writes copy and makes content herself. Our VP of Marketing doesn't hand off strategy and vanish; she's in the drafts, building the brand, shipping alongside the team. If you want a manager who can tell you what "good" looks like because she's done it, not because a deck told her to, this is that. And if you're the person who's already been sketching out the marketing-stunt equivalent of a VW Beetle telephone in a notebook somewhere, waiting for someone to say yes: we'd like to meet you. What You'll Grow Into We want someone who becomes a full-stack, vertically-integrated marketer, not someone who camps in a content lane forever. Alloy is small enough that curiosity gets rewarded with real scope. Over time, that might mean paid creative, lifecycle and nurture strategy, brand and visual direction, or the AEO/SEO program itself. We'll shape it around what you're good at and what the business needs next.
