About Healthix
Healthix is the largest public health information exchange (HIE) in New York State, securely connecting thousands of healthcare providers, hospitals, health plans, and community organizations to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of care. Through the secure exchange of health information, Healthix helps ensure that clinicians, care teams, and public health partners have access to the data they need to make informed decisions and deliver better outcomes for the communities they serve.
As part of our ongoing organizational transformation, Healthix is expanding its focus beyond data exchange to making health information more actionable and impactful for healthcare providers, community partners, and public health initiatives. This transformation reflects our commitment to strengthening community partnerships, improving health equity, and supporting innovative approaches that connect healthcare with community-based services.
Through initiatives such as Healthix Connects, our internal volunteer and community engagement program, we are deepening our relationships with local organizations and creating opportunities for our team to actively support healthier, safer communities.
Joining Healthix means becoming part of a mission-driven organization that is shaping the future of health information sharing while building stronger connections between healthcare systems and the communities they serve.
The Role
The Data Analyst supports Healthix’s data strategy by ensuring the collection, quality, accuracy, accessibility, and effective use of healthcare data. This role requires strong technical and analytical skills, including advanced SQL, database design, data integration, and reporting, along with the ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals and business stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
The Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining, improving, cleansing, and analyzing data within the organization’s operational and analytics databases. Working closely with the Data Strategy team, the individual supports the development of data pipelines, data warehouse solutions, and reporting tools to ensure healthcare information is accurate, reliable, and accessible.
As Healthix expands its initiatives, the role will increasingly support projects that require clinical insight and interpretation of healthcare data. Candidates with a clinical background, such as nursing, medicine, or other direct patient care experience, combined with strong analytical capabilities, are particularly encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will be able to bridge technical data analysis and clinical understanding, helping translate complex healthcare information into meaningful insights that support healthcare providers, organizational initiatives, population health, and improved patient outcomes.
The Data Analyst also contributes to data governance, quality assurance, database optimization, ETL processes, and the development of scalable data solutions across Healthix’s technology environment.
