Job description
BUILT ON FLAVOR. FUELED BY PEOPLE.
What’s it like to work at Kinder’s? Well, there’s a lot of snacking and geeking out over what we all cooked over the weekend. Beyond that, there’s also plenty of hard work. Because we don’t just like flavor, we’re obsessed with it.
With over 100 products sold nationwide, we’re now a top-five brand in multiple flavor categories at Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods, and more. We’re not your typical CPG company. Privately held and founder-led, we like to think of ourselves as a pirate ship in a sea of cruise ships . Our crew is adventurous and fearless. We chart our own course and chase big ideas to make food unforgettable.
As we expand globally and approach $1 billion in revenue, we need more smart-and-scrappy, flavor-obsessed people to come aboard. If you’re looking for a place where you can see the real impact of your work... this is it! Every day, you’ll be part of a journey to add flavor to millions of meals and lives. About This Role:
At Kinder's, we're passionate about flavor, quality, and creating exceptional food experiences. As our company continues to grow, so does the scale and complexity of our supply chain across co-manufacturing, logistics, and an expanding SKU portfolio.
The Senior Financial Analyst, Supply Chain Finance - Sourcing & Procurement will provide analytical and financial support to Procurement and Strategic Sourcing. This role will develop the models, reporting, and fact base needed to understand material cost performance and evaluate sourcing decisions across ingredients, raw materials, packaging, and components.
Working closely with Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, R&D, Innovation, and Accounting, this analyst will forecast commodity and supplier costs, analyze purchase price variance and co-manufacturer true-ups, validate savings, and support supplier negotiations and sourcing alternatives.
This position is ideal for a highly analytical self-starter who can organize large and disparate data sets, investigate cost drivers, and translate detailed findings into clear recommendations in a fast-growing environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Material Cost Reporting & Forecasting
Prepare monthly and weekly reporting for raw materials, ingredients, packaging, components, and other procurement-driven costs.
Analyze purchase price variance, co-manufacturer true-ups, inflation and deflation, commodity movements, and supplier cost changes versus budget, forecast, and prior periods.
Build and maintain commodity, material, and supplier cost forecasts using contract terms, market indicators, purchasing assumptions, demand, mix, and timing.
Reconcile purchasing, supplier, ERP, item master, and financial data and resolve data quality or mapping issues with business partners.
Support period-end close through accrual analysis, true-up validation, variance explanations, and review of unusual transactions.
Create dashboards and recurring reporting that connect sourcing performance to product cost, COGS, gross margin, inventory, and working capital.
Sourcing Analytics & Decision Support
Develop financial analyses for supplier negotiations, requests for proposal, sourcing alternatives, contract terms, and cost breakdowns.
Evaluate supplier changes, alternate and dual sourcing, specification changes, and other sourcing initiatives through structured scenario models.
Analyze tariffs, duties, freight terms, minimum order quantities, lead times, payment terms, and inventory implications.
Build and maintain should-cost and supplier economics models that clarify cost drivers and negotiation opportunities.
Partner with R&D and Innovation to evaluate the cost impact of reformulations, specification changes, packaging changes, and new products.
Prepare clear summaries of financial impacts, key assumptions, sensitivities, risks, and recommended actions.
Savings Validation & Process Improvement
Quantify procurement savings using approved baselines, track initiatives against commitments, and validate realized financial impact.
Ensure approved cost changes and savings are reflected accurately in forecasts, product costs, and performance reporting.
Build repeatable models, data sets, and documentation that improve the speed, accuracy, and scalability of Sourcing Finance processes.
Identify inconsistencies, control gaps, and emerging material cost risks and escalate material issues promptly.
Manage multiple priorities independently and collaborate effectively across Procurement, Finance, R&D, Innovation, and Operations.
Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
3+ years of progressive finance, accounting, analytics, procurement finance, supply chain finance, operations finance, or FP&A experience.
Strong understanding of COGS, purchase price variance, gross margin, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Experience analyzing supplier costs, commodities, packaging, ingredients, contracts, or sourcing initiatives is preferred.
Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, food, manufacturing, retail, or another inventory-intensive business is preferred.
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, including the ability to organize and analyze large data sets and build scalable financial models.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail, data integrity, and reconciliation.
Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Ability to work autonomously, manage competing deadlines, and make progress when data or processes are still evolving.
Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.
Experience with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Anaplan, or comparable platforms is a plus.
