Job description

THE OPPORTUNITY ModernFi is seeking an individual to join our Product organization and help shape the products that power over 900 banks and credit unions nationwide. From day one, you will have significant ownership over how we understand our clients, define our roadmap, and build our platform. As a founding member of the Product unit, you will work at the intersection of our clients, our engineers, and our business, and you will become a definitive subject matter expert on ModernFi's product capabilities and direction. We are hiring across seniority levels, and your level will be determined during the interview process. At ModernFi, your work will directly fuel our vision to serve as systemically important financial infrastructure that drives the American economy and realize our mission to empower our partner financial institutions to grow and better serve their communities. THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES - Immerse yourself in the client experience. Spend time with banks and credit unions, understand their workflows and needs, and synthesize what you learn into clear product direction. - Translate client and market needs into crisp requirements and partner closely with engineering to ship elegant, impactful products. - Drive roadmap definition and prioritization alongside product leadership, balancing client needs, business goals, and engineering capacity. - Contribute to product and market strategy, including competitive analysis and opportunity sizing. - Operate truly cross-functionally, working equally with engineering and with business development teams across pre- and post-sales. - Become the go-to expert on ModernFi's product, services, and operational capabilities for clients and colleagues alike. ABOUT YOU - A strong analytical toolkit: you are fluent with data and comfortable building your own analyses to answer hard questions. - The ability and appetite to become technically conversant: you can learn to engage engineers on APIs, integrations, and system design, even if you can't today. - Exceptional structured thinking and communication: both written and verbal, with the ability to distill complexity for technical and non-technical audiences alike. - Deep curiosity about clients: you want to understand how they work, what they need, and why. - Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities. - High level of empathy, integrity, and calmness under pressure. - Prior product experience is not required. We value judgment, drive, and the ability to learn quickly over titles. - Interest in financial systems and the opportunity to work on meaningful problems with real-world impact. ABOUT US The caliber and character of the ModernFi team set us apart. We value competence and drive over experience, and look for compassionate people with diverse backgrounds. We appreciate technical ability, dedication, and humble confidence. Above all, we value respect — for our colleagues, our clients, our partners, and ourselves. Our team pushes each other to be better every day, supports each other when things go wrong, and grows together on this journey. Because we are a close-knit team, we are selective and considerate with every hire. The people at ModernFi could be doing anything in the world, yet they choose to be here. BENEFITS - Top-of-market comp, equity from day one - Health, dental, and vision. 100% employee covered - 401(k) with a broad fund selection - Unlimited PTO - Fully paid parental leave - $100 monthly wellness stipend - Dinner in the office - Relocation to New York - Uncapped equipment - Quarterly team outings Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 + Equity THE PROCESS If you'd like to learn more, please email us at careers@modernfi.com.
