Job description

ABOUT GEN: Gen is a global company dedicated to powering Digital Freedom through its trusted consumer brands including Norton, Avast, LifeLock, MoneyLion and more. Our combined heritage is rooted in financial empowerment and cyber safety for the first digital generations, and today we deliver award-winning cybersecurity, online privacy, identity protection and financial wellness solutions to nearly 500 million users in more than 150 countries. Together, we share a collective passion and vision to protect consumers and help them grow, manage and secure their digital and financial lives. We’re always looking for smart, fearless and high-impact talent who see AI as a teammate – leveraging it to move faster and deliver meaningful results. When you’re part of Gen, you’ll have the flexibility, tools and support to do your best work and grow your career – from flexible working options and time off to competitive pay, benefits and well-being programs. At Gen, we are scrappy and relentlessly customer driven. We create room for healthy debate, experimentation and continuous learning, and we seek out people with different experiences, identities and ideas to join our team. You’ll work with people who back each other, respect each other and understand that our differences are a competitive advantage. If this sounds like you, we’d love you to be part of Gen. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Marketplace is where MoneyLion customers see their financial options and act on them. It brings together MoneyLion's own money tools and a wide range of partner products, and customers count on us for the full picture and a clear sense of what actually fits their situation. We care a lot about the trust customers extend to us, and about turning it into long-term relationships that grow with them as their financial lives change. As Principal Product Manager, you'll take on the hardest, highest-stakes problems in the Marketplace, including the cross-cutting ones that shape where it heads and that no single team fully owns today. You'll set direction in your area and influence it well beyond, working through other teams as much as with your own. This is a hands-on role — you'll be in the details with your team day to day, not directing from a distance. The space is moving quickly, so reading customer and market signal and turning it into the bets we make next is a core part of the job. You'll report to the Director of Product. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Own the most complex, cross-cutting problems in the Marketplace from problem to launch to iteration, and be accountable for how they move customer and business outcomes. · Set the strategy and roadmap for your area, and make the case for the bets worth making. · Take on ambiguous problems before they're well defined. Frame them so other teams can move in parallel, and set the direction they build against. · Work closely with design, engineering, and data science to ship, and partner with research and analytics to understand what customers actually do. · Build buy-in across the company, and collaborate with partners and adjacent teams (covering both B2C and B2B). · Raise the bar for product craft around you. · Use experimentation to learn quickly and iterate. · Have a real point of view on where AI belongs in the Marketplace, from more personal and timely guidance to experiences customers trust with their money. · Use AI as a teammate in your day-to-day to raise product quality and team speed. ABOUT YOU: Experience: · 8+ years of product management experience, including consumer apps, with a track record of taking hard, ambiguous problems from unclear to shipped and scaled. What you'll bring: · A strong feel for UX and what "good" is for consumers, and the judgment to push for it. · Fluency with data. You use it to find problems, size opportunities, and decide, and you know when the numbers aren't enough. · An experimentation mindset. You'd rather test a real question than argue about it. · Comfortable driving work across teams you don't own. · Hands-on experience using AI in your own workflow, and a point of view on where it belongs in the product. · Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to build alignment across teams. · Experience building B2C products. Nice to have: · Background in fintech, or in another regulated, trust-heavy consumer space such as insurance or healthcare. · Experience with marketplace products. · B2B exposure, or familiarity partnering with B2B-facing teams. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: · Genuinely curious about personal finance and how people make decisions about money. · Highly empathetic. You start from the customer's situation, not the feature. · At home with complexity and a natural systems thinker. You can hold a lot of moving parts in your head and reason about how they connect. · Tuned in to where consumer software is heading and what the best products are doing. · Comfortable when the path isn't fully mapped, and willing to do the unglamorous work to unblock the team. Location: New York, NY (Onsite 3 days per week) Compensation The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $200,000 and $250,000. Base salary is one component of Gen's total compensation package, which includes 401(k) match, health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role. What’s Next Your CV will be reviewed together by the recruiter and hiring manager to assess the scope of your role, the impact you’ve delivered, and how your experience aligns with the position. If shortlisted, the recruiter will invite you to an initial Zoom conversation to discuss your background, what’s compelling you to Gen, and walk you through the interview process. Important Application Note – When you apply, please include your current city and country and let us know your work status (e.g. visa status, right to work in the relevant country, etc.). Gen is an equal opportunity employer, and we’re committed to fair, inclusive practices at every stage of the candidate and employee journey. Employment decisions are based on merit, experience and business needs. Interview Process · TA Screen · Assignment · Hiring Manager Interview · Cross-Functional Panel (individual interviews with Design, Engineering Lead, and Data/Marketing) · Executive Interview
