Software Engineer, Ad Signals at Reddit

Job description

Reddit is a community of communities. It’s built on shared interests, passion, and trust, and is home to the most open and authentic conversations on the internet. Every day, Reddit users submit, vote, and comment on the topics they care most about. With 100,000+ active communities and approximately 130 million daily active unique visitors, Reddit is one of the internet’s largest sources of information. For more information, visit www.redditinc.com . We are seeking a senior backend software engineer to help build the app conversion signals that power Reddit’s app advertising business. You will work on MMP integrations, SKAN processing, and App CAPI to make app installs and in-app events more reliable, useful, and easier for advertisers to integrate. Role Description: Advertisers depend on conversion signals to understand campaign performance and guide investment. Missing events, duplicate delivery, inconsistent mappings, and difficult integrations can undermine that trust. Your work will improve the systems and diagnostics that make app signals usable for measurement and downstream ads systems. Responsibilities: Own backend projects across MMP, SKAN, and App CAPI, from requirements and design to implementation, rollout, and ongoing operation. Build scalable ingestion and processing services with clear contracts, validation, deduplication, failure recovery, and data lineage. Develop integration tooling and diagnostics that help advertisers and partners identify and resolve signal delivery problems. Analyze signal quality and delivery metrics, investigate discrepancies, and prioritize improvements with product and data science partners. Work with partner engineering and downstream consumers to evolve schemas and integrations without disrupting existing advertisers. Incorporate privacy and security requirements into system design, and maintain controls throughout the data lifecycle. Raise engineering quality through testing, design reviews, incident learning, and mentorship. Required Qualifications: Demonstrated senior-level backend software engineering experience delivering and operating scalable production systems. Hands-on app ads signals or mobile measurement experience, with depth in MMP integrations, SKAN, or app conversion APIs. Strong programming, API design, distributed systems, and SQL skills, supported by independent problem solving and data investigation. Clear communication and a record of delivering results with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Benefits: 100% remote opportunity (we have 4 office locations for hybrid/onsite work preference in NY, SF, LA and Chicago) Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits and Income Replacement Programs 401k with Employer Match Global Benefit programs that fit your lifestyle, from workspace to professional development to caregiving support Family Planning Support Gender-Affirming Care Mental Health & Coaching Benefits Flexible Vacation & Paid Volunteer Time Off Generous Paid Parental Leave #LI-AJ1 Pay Transparency: This job posting may span more than one career level.
