In this Senior Vice President-level role, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor on cybersecurity, information security, AI governance, and emerging technology regulation, directly shaping how Citi navigates a rapidly evolving legal and regulatory landscape. This is a critical role with global scope, partnering closely with business, technology, and risk functions to deliver pragmatic, commercially grounded legal counsel. Required Qualifications & Skills • At least 5-7 years of relevant legal experience, preferably four years of which should be related to advising clients on cybersecurity issues or supporting an information security team. Exceptional candidates with the necessary skill set may be eligible to be considered for the role, regardless of their level of experience. • Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree, with a bar license in good standing. • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity legal frameworks, including incident response, breach notification requirements, and information security regulation across multiple jurisdictions. • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-party legal matters and translate regulatory complexity into clear, actionable guidance for senior business stakeholders. • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships across legal, business, and technology functions. • Sound legal judgment in fast-paced, high-stakes environments, with the ability to balance legal risk and business practicality. • Leadership capability, including the ability to set direction, hold others accountable, and supervise legal work across teams. Beneficial Skills & Qualifications • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, frontier AI risk considerations, or the legal and regulatory treatment of generative and agentic AI systems. • Exposure to post-quantum cryptography concepts and the evolving legal implications for financial institutions. • Experience engaging with law enforcement, government agencies, or regulators in the context of cyber or information security incidents. What We Offer Joining Citi's Cybersecurity Legal team means working at the intersection of law, technology, and global finance — on issues that matter to the institution, its clients, and the broader financial system. You will have the platform, the reach, and the mandate to do consequential legal work at scale. • A senior role with genuine strategic influence, advising on some of the most complex and fast-moving legal issues in financial services today. • Global scope and cross-jurisdictional exposure, working across legal, technology, risk, and business teams in a truly international environment. • A hybrid working model offering 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely each week, supporting both professional connection and personal flexibility. • Access to Citi's global legal network, with opportunities to collaborate with peers across practice areas, geographies, and business lines. • Continuous professional development, with exposure to emerging areas of law including AI regulation, post-quantum security, and evolving global cyber frameworks. • Competitive compensation and financial wellbeing support reflective of a Senior Vice President-level position at a leading global financial institution. • A performance-driven environment where your legal judgment shapes real business and institutional outcomes.
