Job description

About the Company Our client is a venture-backed company building AI-native software to automate a large, traditionally manual corner of financial services. They are well past early traction, with major enterprise customers live on the platform and several more in late-stage sales, and they run a fully remote team with multiple years of runway. This is an environment built for engineers who thrive on autonomy, ownership, and shipping quickly. Founded around 2020 · Fully remote team · Industry: Fintech, AI, B2B enterprise software The Role This is a senior/staff full-stack individual-contributor role where you ship to production early and quickly take ownership of mission-critical work. What you'll be doing • Designing, building, and launching complex, multi-step AI agents that customers rely on to automate operational workflows. • Integrating with third-party services APIs for document generation, automated decisioning, and fraud prevention. • Building the next generation of the platform's job-processing infrastructure on AWS for a more observable, reliable back end. Tech stack: TypeScript, React, Node/Express (containerized), GraphQL/Apollo, PostgreSQL, AWS (ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, Kafka, ElasticSearch), Terraform. Requirements • 7 to 25 years building software, with at least 5 years at a senior level, owning full-stack web applications end to end from design through deployment. • A track record at product-led technology companies where the software itself was the product, such as high-growth VC-backed startups or major tech companies, rather than internal tooling at non-tech firms. • Genuinely full-stack, splitting your time roughly evenly across frontend and backend (around 50/50 or 60/40 either way). Strongly backend-only or frontend-only profiles are not a fit for this role. • Deep, recent, hands-on TypeScript experience in production, with concrete examples of complex systems you have shipped. • Experience building and scaling high-throughput distributed systems in the cloud on AWS, managed with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform. • Working fluency across a modern web stack: React, Node/Express, GraphQL/Apollo, and PostgreSQL. • A sharp eye for security, given the sensitivity of the data involved. • Able to work remotely on U.S. business hours, with a history of steady tenure and clear progression (typically at least 2 years per role). Nice to Haves • Experience designing and scaling complex relational database schemas. • Background in fintech. • Familiarity with modern AI product development practices such as evals, experiment design, and dataset curation. • An SRE-minded approach to building reliable, observable, low-maintenance infrastructure. • An active GitHub and personal side projects. Why Join • Build AI-native automation in a large, traditional industry that is overdue for change. • Ship to production from day one with real autonomy and end-to-end ownership. • A modern, well-invested engineering environment: TypeScript monorepo, end-to-end type safety, 100% infrastructure-as-code, and per-PR staging environments. • Strong commercial traction and several years of runway. • Fully remote across the U.S. and Canada, with strong benefits including full medical premiums for employee and family, dental, vision, 401(k), HSA/FSA, and flexible time off. Details • Location: United States (Remote) • Work policy: Fully remote, U.S. business hours • Compensation: $150K–$350K + competitive equity • Visa sponsorship: Transfers only (OPT, H-1B transfers); no new sponsorship • Employment type: Full-time
