Job description

BUILDING HEALTHCARE THAT REMEMBERS Every time you call a doctor's office, the system forgets you the moment you hang up. You wait on hold, explain everything from scratch, get bounced between lines, and hope someone follows up. Everyone has felt this. No one should have to. At Assort Health, we're building one continuous conversation for every patient. An AI agent that knows who you are, remembers how you like to be reached, and carries that context from your first symptom to your full recovery. What began as the first voice AI agent to schedule a specialty appointment has become the largest proprietary specialty dataset in healthcare: 285 million patient interactions, 62,000 care protocols, 1.6 million decision pathways. We went from 15 people in 2025 and will cross 250 by the end of 2026. Revenue is up 20x in 15 months and we've raised $222 million, including a recent $120 million Series C assorthealth.com at a $1.2 billion valuation. We've also been named to the Forbes Cloud 100 and the 2026 Enterprise Tech 30 as the only healthcare AI company on the list! Healthcare spends $1.1 trillion a year on administration instead of care. If you want to help change that, apply below. ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us execute on our impactful product roadmap. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Operations, customers, and teammates to design, build, and ship scalable products that solve real world healthcare challenges for our customers and their patients. The problems are often messy as a single patient workflow can cross several systems, customer needs vary, and reliability and privacy are table stakes. You’ll bring structure to that ambiguity, make practical tradeoffs, and own your work to design and build systems from the MVP through to a mature, scaled product. This is a full-stack product engineering role, with a backend emphasis. You’ll work wherever the problem takes you, including user interfaces, APIs, data models, background jobs, and third-party integrations. We're especially excited by candidates who care deeply about improving the patient experience, learn and ship quickly, and are high ownership. WHAT YOU'LL DO - You'll have many responsibilities and will be involved in key decisions alongside the founders and other stakeholders. - Work closely with our world-class engineering team to develop features and products from the ground up. - Enjoy a high degree of autonomy, tasked with solving complex problems in innovative ways. - Participate actively in design and development discussions, contributing fresh ideas and perspectives. - Engage with healthcare professionals to tailor software solutions that meet real-world needs. - Move quickly with the team to ship reliable products, meet ambitious goals, and deliver a five-star customer experience. - You will develop scalable software solutions that comply with HIPAA and other security standards. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 4–8+ years of industry experience, with a proven track record of impact at a major tech company or a high-growth startup. - Strong engineering fundamentals and a demonstrated ability to design, build, and scale production-grade applications or systems. - Experience building full-stack web applications. Our product stack includes TypeScript, React, Next.js, Python, FastAPI, and Postgres. Experience with every part of the stack is not required. - Comfort working with APIs, relational data models, asynchronous workflows, and third-party integrations. BENEFITS & PERKS FOR ASSORTIES - 💸 Competitive Compensation – Including salary and employee stock options so you share in our success. - 📚 Lifelong Learning – Annual budget for professional development, plus training opportunities to help you grow. - 💻 Office Setup Stipend – We’ll outfit your in-office workspace so comfy as it's productive. - 🩺 Top-Tier Health Coverage – Medical, dental, and vision insurance, because your health comes first. - 🏖 Flexible PTO – We trust you to take the time you need to recharge and come back ready to crush it. - 🥗 Meals & Snacks – Lunch, dinner, and snack breaks that fuel great ideas. - 💪 Fitness Stipend – Your wellness matters. We reimburse monthly membership costs to support your health. - 🚆 Commuter Benefits – We cover eligible transportation costs to make your trip to work easier. - 👵 401(k) – Build your retirement savings.
