Job description

Our Mission As humans, there are few things more exciting than meeting someone new. At Tinder, we’re inspired by the challenge of keeping the magic of human connection alive. With tens of millions of users, hundreds of millions of downloads, 2+ billion swipes per day, 20+ million matches per day, and a presence in 190+ countries, our reach is expansive—and rapidly growing. We work together to solve complex problems. Behind the simplicity of every match, we think deeply about human relationships, behavioral science, network economics, AI and ML, online and real-world safety, cultural nuances, loneliness, love, sex, and more. Our Values Take the Lead: We don't ghost our work or each other. Just as users don't leave their matches hanging, we don't let each other down. Move Fast: We have a bias for action and urgency. Something that could be done tomorrow would be better if done today. Better Together: We keep connection at the heart of dating and at the heart of how we work. Just as our users are better when they connect with others, so are we when we collaborate. Real Talk: We say the hard thing the human way. Just as we ask our users to behave with kindness and candor in our community, we expect Team Tinder to do the same. Safety First: We act with integrity, transparency, and consistency so people feel safe—whether they're swiping, matching, or working alongside us. Spark Fun: We have fun to unlock creativity, fuel innovation, and help us build better experiences for daters. The Team or Role We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to join our Anti-Abuse Team. You will own a consequential area of our safety charter: reducing the prevalence and impact of policy-violating actors and content on Tinder. You will set direction across detection, prevention, remediation, and enforcement, and sustain it across multiple related initiatives. Where you'll work: This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three times per week in our New York or Los Angeles offices. In this role, you will: Own the product strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for a core abuse area including explicit choices about what we will and will not pursue. Make principled calls on the tradeoffs this domain forces, from precision versus recall to automated action versus human review, and set guardrails that keep those calls consistent. Partner closely with Anti-Abuse Analysts to uncover evolving bad actor tactics and translate them into durable product defenses. Drive execution and alignment across Engineering, Design, Data Science, Policy, Legal, and Trust & Safety Operations, turning community guidelines into scalable, enforceable systems. Define the measurement foundation for your area, including prevalence, exposure, repeat offending, false positives, and appeal outcomes, and how we evaluate impact where clean experiments are not possible. Apply AI and ML where they create real leverage in detection, classification, and review, with a clear view of what makes each bet worth pursuing. Be the authoritative product voice on anti-abuse at Tinder: communicate strategy, tradeoffs, and impact to senior leadership, and drive executive-level alignment on high-stakes enforcement decisions, including when the answer is unpopular with Growth. Hold the quality bar for shipped enforcement experiences: stay hands-on with the product and fix root causes rather than individual bugs. What You Bring: A track record of sustained, material outcomes across multiple related initiatives in Trust & Safety, fraud, abuse prevention, content moderation, or risk. Systems thinking across the full abuse lifecycle, with the judgment to know when a problem calls for better detection, a different intervention, or a change to the experience itself. Strong product intuition for remediation and enforcement experiences that are effective, fair, and intelligible to the people on the receiving end, holding that under-enforcement is a fairness failure as much as over-enforcement. Demonstrated ability to operate in highly ambiguous, adversarial environments and deliver resilient, scalable solutions. Analytical rigor, including comfort reasoning from imperfect data and holding a credible line on what the evidence does and does not support. You'll need: Minimum of 8+ years of product management or other relevant experience building and scaling products or systems. Ability to set direction and drive execution on large, cross-functional initiatives from concept to launch and iteration. Strong communication skills with experience presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders. Fluency with ML-based detection systems. Comfortable discussing precision, recall, model thresholds, and data pipelines with engineers. Working knowledge of the online safety regulatory environment, and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into product decisions rather than handing them to Legal. Hands-on with data. Writes their own SQL and interrogates prevalence and precision numbers rather than accepting a dashboard. Fluency applying AI tools in product work, with clear judgment about where they add leverage and where they don't. Conviction to advocate for user safety and platform integrity. Nice to have: Experience with age assurance, identity verification, or biometric signals in a consumer product. Experience with adversarial ML, including evasion, model drift, or detection of AI-generated content. Experience in consumer social or dating platform. As a full-time employee, you’ll enjoy: Flexible Vacation, 10 Sick Days Time off to volunteer and charitable donations matched up to $15,000 annually Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage 100% 401(k) employer match up to 10%, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) 100% paid parental leave (including for non-birthing parents) and family forming benefits Investment in your development: mentorship through our MentorMatch program, access to 6,000+ online courses through Udemy, and an annual $3,000 stipend for your professional development Investment in your wellness: access to mental health support via Modern Health, paid concierge medical membership, pet insurance, fitness membership subsidy, and commuter subsidy Free subscription to Tinder Gold Commitment to Inclusion At Tinder, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it.
