ABOUT CONCOURSE Concourse builds AI agents for corporate finance teams. We connect core enterprise data sources and deploy AI agents that can analyze the data through natural language, deliver insights in seconds, and enable our customers to make better decisions. Since launching less than a year ago, Concourse has grown extremely rapidly. Our AI agents are deployed across hundreds of high-growth companies, unicorn startups like Persona, Front, Lightmatter, and large public companies - including multiple Fortune 500 customers. Concourse is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, CRV, YC, Standard Capital, and 50+ angel investors from companies like OpenAI, Cursor, Vercel, Brex, Carta, Rippling, 1Password, Deel, Jeeves, and DoorDash. ABOUT THE ROLE We’re hiring a software engineer to build and scale the core infrastructure that powers our AI agents. You’ll work across APIs, data models, integrations, and backend systems that handle high-volume queries and critical finance workflows. Your mission is to build reliable, scalable backend systems that enable our AI agents to deliver fast, accurate, and trustworthy results for enterprise customers. You’ll develop new features, expand integrations, optimize performance, and contribute to the architecture that supports hundreds of thousands of AI-driven queries per month. This is a high-impact role for someone who loves building backend systems, enjoys solving complex data and integration challenges, and wants to grow quickly inside a fast-moving startup. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Build Core Backend Systems: Develop and maintain backend features, APIs, and business logic that power our AI agents and user-facing applications. - Own Integrations: Build integrations with ERPs, banks, CRMs, HRIS, payroll, billing systems, and other finance data sources. - Create ETL Pipelines: Develop and maintain ETL processes that ensure smooth, reliable data flow from external systems into our database. - Optimize Backend for Scale: Work with the AI team to ensure backend systems support high-volume AI queries with strong performance and reliability. - Take Ownership of Product Components: Own large areas of the backend with a high degree of autonomy and an ownership mentality. ABOUT YOU - 2+ years of backend engineering experience delivering production systems and features - Strong experience building REST APIs, working with databases, and developing backend services (TypeScript/Node.js preferred) - Comfortable building integrations, reading API documentation quickly, and connecting disparate systems with urgency - Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and moving data across siloed systems - Excellent problem solver who enjoys debugging, prototyping, and thinking creatively through technical challenges - Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and is able to self-direct, move quickly, and operate with high ownership in a startup setting - Experience with financial systems (ERPs, billing, payroll, or other systems) or fintech products (preferred but not required) - Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), ETL tools (Fivetran, Airbyte) WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN US Joining Concourse is an incredible opportunity to get in at the ground level of a high-growth, category-defining AI company. Every person we hire meaningfully shapes the product, culture, and trajectory of the business, and we compensate accordingly with top-of-market salary and equity. You’ll have a high degree of ownership from day one. We move fast, build aggressively, and operate with very little bureaucracy. You’ll work directly with the founders and founding team, ship impactful work weekly, and play a core role in scaling the company. We’re in person 5 days a week in our new NYC HQ in Flatiron, where we collaborate tightly, iterate quickly, and build an environment that’s both high-energy and deeply focused. We believe the best work, and the fastest learnings, happen together. We care about your growth. You’ll get direct mentorship, opportunities to stretch into new skills across engineering, AI, and GTM, and the support of a team that wants you to succeed. This is a place to accelerate your career, build your brand, and make an outsized impact.
