The Senior Platform Engineer builds and runs the platform the A2D2 development team works from: cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, container builds, model-serving hosts, and the offline install bundles used for accredited on-prem delivery. The role works closely with the Lead Software Engineer and treats the platform as a product for developers: stable, documented, and changed in reviewed, incremental steps so the teams building on it are never surprised. Understanding of the C2 mission is a plus, not a requirement.
Required: Technical Skills
• 5+ years of overall technical experience
• Architected and operated multi-tier AWS GovCloud environments across foundation and services layers using Terraform/OpenTofu module and blueprint patterns with remote state.
• Provisioned and hardened ECS Fargate, ECR, IAM, VPC, ALB, Route 53, Secrets Manager/SSM, and CloudWatch in accordance with NIST 800-53.
• Built reusable infrastructure modules and pipelines driven from a single source of truth, so service definitions and image publication stay in sync.
• Engineered DAG-scheduled pipelines using needs, rules, and change-based execution so that unrelated work does not rebuild or republish.
• Administered Docker autoscaler runners with tagged pools, caching strategy, and interruptible job configuration.
• Authored multi-stage Docker files with BuildKit inline caching and shared base layers across related services.
• Deployed and operated GPU-backed LLM serving stacks (vLLM, Ollama) for production workloads.
• Built reproducible install bundles carrying images, charts, IaC, and dependencies with no reliance on an outbound network path at install time .
Required: Working with the Team
• Treats the platform as a product for developers: stable interfaces, clear onboarding, documented runbooks.
• Ships infrastructure and pipeline changes through review in small, reversible increments, with rollback paths.
• Partners with the lead engineer on technical direction rather than setting it independently.
Nice to Have:
• Produced ATO-supporting artifacts including SBOMs, vulnerability triage records, STIG alignment, and NIST 800-53 evidence.
• Provisioned GPU-backed inference hosts: driver and CUDA orchestration, device passthrough into containers, and Ansible collections automating the whole stack.
• Experience with Platform One, Big Bang, or Iron Bank distribution patterns for accredited on-prem delivery.
• Provisioned and maintained GPU-backed inference hosts: driver and CUDA orchestration, device passthrough into containers, and Ansible collections automating the full stack.
• Familiarity with C2 or battle management mission context.
