Job description

About Chainlink Chainlink is the industry-standard oracle platform bringing the capital markets onchain and powering the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink stack provides the essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to power advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. Since inventing decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has enabled tens of trillions in transaction value and now secures the vast majority of DeFi. Many of the world’s largest financial services institutions have also adopted Chainlink’s standards and infrastructure, including Swift, Euroclear, Mastercard, Fidelity International, UBS, S&P Dow Jones Indices, FTSE Russell, WisdomTree, ANZ, and top protocols such as Aave, Lido, GMX and many others. Chainlink leverages a novel fee model where offchain and onchain revenue from enterprise adoption is converted to LINK tokens and stored in a strategic Chainlink Reserve . Learn more at chain.link . About The Role As Senior Product Marketing Manager for Institutional Data Management, you own the commercial case for bringing high-value proprietary data onchain. You are the narrative and product marketing lead for institutional data providers and index owners, positioning Chainlink so they can reach onchain consumers without disrupting their existing licensing models or commercial structures. This role runs on the distribution economics of financial data, a distinct institutional business with its own buyers and entrenched commercial structures. You own the segment's value chain, personas, and incumbent map, and the commercial case for the onchain consumers on the other side of the market. You lead product marketing for solutions like DataLink, showing how Chainlink respects institutional requirements while opening new onchain use cases and explore opportunities to shape and develop new data offerings to take to market. The goal is to make Chainlink the default reference layer for institutional data onchain. Your Impact • Map the Data Value Chain: Document the end-to-end workflow for institutional data, from proprietary sources to on-chain smart contracts, and identify the commercial motivations for every participant. • Craft Distribution Narratives: Own the positioning for proprietary data distribution, making the commercial case for providers to publish onchain and for onchain consumers to adopt institutional data. • Develop Canonical Content: Create the "Product Marketing Playbook” and strategic inputs that fuel the content, events, and PR teams, ensuring a coherent and authoritative voice across all data-related touchpoints. • Competitive Governance: Maintain a definitive landscape of direct competitors, incumbents, and build-it-yourself alternatives, ensuring our GTM teams are equipped to differentiate Chainlink’s data solutions. • Shape Pricing & Packaging: Partner with Product and Sales to influence the commercial structures of our data offerings, ensuring they align with how institutional data is bought and sold. Requirements • At least 6 years of experience in product marketing or strategy, with deep fluency in institutional data licensing, distribution, and commercial structures. • Proven ability to translate complex data workflows and technical distribution mechanics into clear, business-focused value propositions. • Understands how institutional data providers operate and what they require to publish onchain, and how the buy-side consumes that data onchain, from DeFi protocols today to other institutions over time. • Can build positioning that speaks to data providers' commercial realities, not just the technical capability (index providers, rating agencies, reference data vendors). • Proven experience owning GTM strategy and execution for successful platform or infrastructure launches. • Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to act as the "go-to" marketing lead for a complex category. Preferred Requirements • Prior role at a major data vendor • Technical background or strong comfort working with data-heavy products and API-based distribution. • Familiarity with onchain data infrastructure, oracles, or how DeFi protocols consume external data.
