Job description

Who We Are & Why Join Us Avathon is the leading Industrial AI autonomy platform, helping customers across heavy industries -- energy, mining, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, and logistics -- accelerate the journey toward autonomous operations. Our platform is built on a Computational Knowledge Graph foundation that contextualizes and connects operational data across siloed systems, bringing together time series, structured, unstructured, and machine vision data to power AI-driven applications in asset performance management, supply chain intelligence, visual AI, and global trade management. With capabilities spanning digital twins, normal behavior modeling, natural language processing, and computer vision, Avathon delivers real-time predictive intelligence and agentic decision-making at industrial scale. Cutting-Edge AI Innovation -- Join a team at the forefront of AI, developing groundbreaking solutions that shape the future. High-Growth Environment -- Thrive in a fast-scaling startup where agility, collaboration, and rapid professional growth are the norm. Meaningful Impact -- Work on AI-driven projects that drive real change across industries and improve lives. Learn more at: avathon.com We are hiring a Senior Product Manager to own Planning on the Avathon platform, starting with integrated demand planning. This covers statistical and ML-based forecasting, demand sensing, demand-supply matching, inventory positioning and S&OP for manufacturers and asset-heavy operators in energy, mining, manufacturing and aerospace. Today our planning capabilities are built customer by customer. Your job is to turn that into one product with a clear roadmap, built on our Computational Knowledge Graph and AI agents such as our manufacturing planner agent. This is a product management role in Product Engineering, not a customer delivery role. You will own what we build and why, and work with engineering, AI science and our forward deployed teams to ship it. You Will Product Strategy and Roadmap Own the vision, roadmap and priorities for Planning across demand, supply, inventory and S&OP Know the market. Understand where Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, Oracle and SAP IBP are strong and where an AI-native, graph-based approach wins Shape agentic planning: define how planners work with, supervise and override agents that generate forecasts, flag exceptions and recommend supply actions Decide what goes into the core product versus what stays as customer configuration Define how planning connects to the rest of the platform: PLM and BOM data, logistics, procurement and asset health Demand and Supply Planning Own the demand planning module: statistical forecasting, ML-based demand sensing and collaborative demand review Define requirements for demand segmentation, forecast value-add (FVA), and bias and accuracy analytics Bring B2B demand signals into the planning engine, including customer contracts, project forecasts, production schedules, commodity indices and macro indicators Own how the consensus demand plan flows into supply allocation, inventory repositioning and asset rebalancing, and how trade-offs are shown to planners Design collaborative workflows for demand analysts, supply planners, sales and S&OP leaders to review, override and approve plans with a full audit trail Customer Discovery and Execution Spend real time with planners and S&OP leaders at customer sites and iterate based on real planning cycles Turn requests from deployments into reusable product requirements Work with data science so model outputs become recommendations planners understand and act on Write clear requirements and acceptance criteria, run release reviews with the engineering lead and keep the roadmap honest Track adoption and value delivered, such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns and clear-to-build hit rate You'll Have 8+ years in product management, with at least 4 years owning a supply chain planning product (demand planning, S&OP, inventory or supply planning) Experience at a planning software vendor such as Blue Yonder, o9 Solutions, Kinaxis, Oracle SCM, SAP IBP, Anaplan or Aera, or leading planning systems at a large manufacturer Depth in demand planning. You know how statistical and ML forecasting methods work, what accuracy and bias metrics mean, and how demand plans drive supply decisions Breadth across plan-to-fulfill: demand-supply matching, inventory optimization, allocation and S&OP Experience shipping AI or ML driven product features to enterprise customers; agentic workflows in planning are a strong plus Comfortable with ERP, MES and PLM data (SAP, Oracle) and how it flows into planning Experience in industrial B2B environments such as manufacturing, mining, energy or aerospace is a plus Strong written communication. You can write a one-page product brief that engineering and sales both understand Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research or a related quantitative field. MBA or MS is a plus Compensation Pay Range: $140k - $180k salary annually. Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Location: This role is not remote.
