Job description

Lead Finance Solutions Architect Citi is hiring a Lead Finance Solutions Architect to shape the future of its global finance function as part of a strategic, multi-year Finance Technology Transformation program. Sitting within the Principal Architect's leadership group, this senior role is the primary driver of target state business architecture across critical finance domains — including General Ledger, Financial Close, Data Substantiation, and Reconciliation — as Citi migrates its core finance platforms to Oracle SaaS. This is a high-impact opportunity to translate the business strategic goals into a coherent end to end multi-technology blueprint that will redefine how finance operates at one of the world's leading financial institutions. Responsibilities ● Define the target state business architecture for core finance domains — including Accounting Engines, General Ledger, Financial Close, Data Substantiation, and Reconciliation — ensuring designs align with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. ● Analyze current state finance processes end-to-end, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for simplification, standardization, and automation across a global organization. ● Develop detailed business process models, functional designs, and data flow diagrams that articulate the future state and serve as the authoritative blueprint for the transformation program. ● Engage senior stakeholders across Finance, Front Office, and Operations to gather requirements, build consensus, and validate that the target architecture meets critical business needs. ● Translate the business architecture into clear functional requirements for Technology teams, ensuring delivered solutions address the right business problems and are fit for purpose. Required Qualifications & Skills ● 6+ years as a Business Architect, Process Architect, Solutions Architect or equivalent strategic role within financial services, with a clear career progression from a technical discipline into business solutions and architecture. ● Deep functional knowledge of core finance and accounting processes, including General Ledger, sub-ledger accounting, financial close and consolidation, data substantiation, and multi-system reconciliation. ● Demonstrated ability to model business capabilities and design complex, end-to-end business processes at scale within a large, global organization. ● Solid understanding of financial data flows, data governance principles, and the critical data elements required for financial control and reporting in a regulated environment. ● Exceptional communication and stakeholder management capability, with a track record of influencing senior leaders and articulating complex business concepts clearly to varied audiences. ● Strategic mindset with the ability to connect granular process design decisions to broader business outcomes and long-term organizational objectives. What We Offer Joining Citi means taking on a role with real strategic weight — one where your decisions shape how a global financial institution operates. This is a senior position offering the scope, resources, and executive visibility to make a lasting impact on Citi's finance function, supported by a collaborative and performance-driven environment. ● A central seat in one of Citi's highest-priority transformation programs, with direct influence over enterprise-wide finance architecture decisions. ● Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely, providing flexibility without sacrificing collaboration. ● Access to Citi's global network and the opportunity to work alongside senior leaders across Finance, Technology, and Operations on a program of international scale. ● Structured learning and development support to continue growing at the intersection of finance and solutions architecture. ● Wellbeing support and work-life balance initiatives designed to sustain long-term performance at a senior level. ● Competitive financial benefits package, including financial wellbeing resources appropriate to a senior leadership role. ● Family support benefits and localized employee offerings aligned to your work location.
