Job description

Prophetic Software is not able to sponsor employment visas now or in the future. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship to be considered for this role. About Prophetic: Real estate development is a multi-billion-dollar industry that has run on fragmented data, manual processes, and gut instinct for decades. Prophetic is changing that. We're building the AI-native platform that enables homebuilders, developers, and investors to find, analyze, and act on land opportunities from a single system — powered by proprietary technologies that process billions of data points across all 50 states. We are the market leader in our space, and our customers don't just use the product — they love it. We're not making teams more efficient. We're changing how they operate. Prophetic is scaling fast — demand is outpacing our ability to hire, and we're just getting started. This is a once-in-a-lifetime team: sharp, low ego, deeply collaborative, and obsessed with building the best product in the industry. Come disrupt an industry with us. About the Role As a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Prophetic, you'll drive top-of-funnel growth in two key verticals: multifamily and brokerage. You'll find and engage the right prospects, such as multifamily developers, owners, operators and real estate brokerages, and turn outbound activity into qualified pipeline for the Account Executive team. This isn't a role where you read from a script and blast a list. You'll do real research, write targeted outreach, and have meaningful conversations with decision-makers about how Prophetic can change the way they source and evaluate land. You'll also help with early-stage partnership development by finding and warming up potential channel partners for the business development team to activate. You'll report to our BDR Manager and work alongside another BDR, sharing what's working, refining messaging and building out the vertical-specific prospecting playbook as the team grows. You'll also partner closely with AEs and leadership. For the right person, this is a clear path to a full-cycle AE role or to other roles across our sales and client services teams. What You'll Do - Research and identify high-fit prospects across multifamily developers, owners and operators, and residential and land brokerages. Use LinkedIn, industry databases, conference attendee lists and publicly available data. - Run targeted outbound sequences across email, LinkedIn and phone. Personalize outreach based on company profile, portfolio, geography and known pain points, with no copy-paste templates. - Book qualified discovery calls and demos for Account Executives. Quality matters more than quantity: you're measured on pipeline generated and meetings held, not just meetings booked. - Keep clean, accurate records in the CRM. Log every touchpoint, update contact info, and keep sequences moving so prospects don't go cold. - Stay active on LinkedIn: connect with decision-makers, comment on relevant content, and build a presence in the multifamily and brokerage communities. - Help identify potential channel partners, such as land consultants, proptech platforms and industry associations, and do initial outreach to warm up those relationships. - Support partnership pipeline tracking in the CRM, keeping partner contacts organized and conversations documented. - Help with conference and event prep, including multifamily and brokerage industry events. Research attendee lists, schedule meetings in advance and support follow-up outreach after the event. - Work closely with your BDR Manager, fellow BDR and AEs on account targeting, messaging and territory coverage. Share what's resonating and what's not from the front lines of outreach. - Take part in weekly pipeline reviews and help keep the forecast accurate by keeping your qualified meeting pipeline current. - Work with Marketing on campaign follow-up, turning inbound leads and event contacts into active outreach sequences. What You Need - 2–4 years of experience in a BDR, SDR or outbound sales role at a B2B SaaS company. - A track record of generating pipeline through self-directed outbound (LinkedIn, cold email and phone), not just inbound follow-up. - Strong written communication. Your outreach is clear and specific and doesn't sound like it came from a template generator. - Comfort with CRM hygiene. You log your activity, keep sequences up to date and don't let contacts fall through the cracks. - Fluency with AI tools as part of your daily workflow, for prospect research, outreach drafting and call prep. - Real curiosity about the customer's world. You want to understand how multifamily developers and brokerages operate, not just get a meeting on the books. - Resilience and consistency. Outbound is a grind: you show up every day, learn from what doesn't work and don't need outside motivation to hit your numbers. - A team-first mindset. You share learnings openly and help raise the bar for the whole BDR team. Nice to Have - Experience or strong interest in multifamily, real estate brokerage, proptech or land development. - Familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Apollo, Outreach, Salesloft or similar sales engagement platforms. - Conference or event experience, such as working a booth, scheduling on-site meetings or following up on event leads. - Experience supporting or moving into a partnership or channel role. Why Prophetic: - The team. Wide expertise, sharp, low ego, and genuinely fun to work with. We have each other's backs and we celebrate wins together. - Real ownership and impact from day one. Our customers make million-dollar decisions on our platform. Your work matters immediately. - AI-native product and AI-native workflows. Every team — engineering, sales, operations — runs on AI tooling daily. - Founder-led transparency. Leadership shares the financials, the strategy, and the hard calls with the whole team. - High growth, high demand. The product works, customers love it, and we are hiring to keep up. No shortage of opportunity here. - Flexibility. Remote, hybrid, or in-office with a great Portland, OR headquarters. - Self-starters who thrive in ambiguity. We're a startup. If you need someone to tell you what to do every morning, this isn't the place; if you come alive solving hard problems with smart people, it is. Benefits (US-based Full-time): - 100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you; 30% coverage for dependents - Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity - Unlimited PTO - Hybrid/Remote stipend - In-office perks: snacks, drinks, coffee, ping-pong table, and more — plus cuddles from Olive, our in-office Doberman! - Budget for intra-office travel - 2–3 annual team meetups in person How We Work: These four themes are how we think, build, and lead: - Truth — Say the hard thing. We speak plainly, flag problems early, and share what's actually going on. - Precision — Sign your name to it. Our customers make million-dollar decisions on our data. We get the details right. - Velocity — Speed compounds. Waiting doesn't. We ship daily and launch features every two to three weeks. - Ownership — Own it, then solve it. We own outcomes, not tasks. If something's broken, we fix it. EEO: Prophetic Software is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants, and we make employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran or military status, marital status, or any other characteristic protected under applicable federal, state, or local law.
