Job description

About Us Beast Industries is a multifaceted media and entertainment company founded by Jimmy Donaldson, popularly known as MrBeast, the most watched person in the world. Renowned for revolutionizing digital content creation, Beast Industries encompasses a diverse portfolio of ventures that extend far beyond its origins on YouTube. With a mission to entertain, inspire, and create significant social impact, Beast Industries operates across various domains including digital media, philanthropy, consumer products, and innovative business initiatives. At Beast Industries, we believe in the transformative power of digital media and its potential to entertain, educate, and effect positive change. Our commitment to innovation, creativity, and philanthropy drives us to explore new frontiers, create unforgettable experiences, and build a legacy that inspires future generations. The Opportunity We're doing an AI-first engineering rebuild for a company that already has an audience of 100M+ people. This is a zero-to-one build with no legacy constraints. You're not joining to maintain someone else's code. You're here to build live streaming and gaming experiences that set a new bar for the industry, from the ground up for the Beast community. You'll work across the full stack, frontend and backend, to deliver features at a speed that wasn't possible before AI, and help shape a product that millions of users will experience in real time. The Product You'll be working, as part of a small and fast-moving team, on one of the most technically demanding parts of the product: a live and game stack where traffic is unpredictable and user expectations are unforgiving. Workloads are bursty and correlated: fan-out events drive synchronized connection storms that stress-test every layer of the stack, from load balancers to live streaming service to stateful game servers to database write throughput. That means: Real-time features (video playback, messaging, leaderboards, in-game interactions) that must stay correct and fast under spike-driven load. A client experience that needs to feel seamless across devices, network conditions, and concurrent user spikes. Code that lives in production and gets stress-tested every time a creator moment drives a traffic surge. What You'll Do Build and ship live and game features across the full stack using AI coding tools, contributing to a velocity that redefines what a small engineering team can deliver. Take ownership of your features end to end, from development through deployment, using AI-facilitated QA processes and tooling to maintain high engineering quality. Write clean, reliable, and performant code with a strong sense of accountability for what you ship in production. Collaborate closely with your teammates, contributing to a culture of high standards, fast iteration, and continuous learning. Who You Are AI-Native: You're already burning through tokens and using AI coding agents daily to move faster. Full Stack Engineer: 3+ years of hands-on experience building consumer-facing products across frontend and backend, with comfort moving between client and server as the product demands. Real-Time Enthusiast: You have genuine interest or experience in live streaming, gaming, or real-time systems. You understand why latency matters and you care about the user experience under load. Ownership Mindset: You take pride in what you ship, follow through on production issues, and don't consider a feature done until it's running reliably in the hands of users. Strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience in at least one backend language (Node.js, Go, Java, Rust, or equivalent) and one frontend framework. Bonus points for experience with live streaming protocols (HLS, RTMP), real-time systems (websockets, messaging, leaderboards), gaming backend services, or prior work at a consumer-scale company. Location: Bay Area - Reporting To: Director of Software Engineering: $178,000 –$223,000 base + equity + benefits Benefits The Perks, Why Work On the MrBeast Team We are redefining what entertainment and storytelling look like at global scale. Every piece of content we publish reaches millions and influences culture in real time. This is your opportunity to lead the team that decides how those moments come to life across every screen.
