Standard Job Description
WHAT WE’RE DOING
At Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems, we're on a mission to drive innovation and uphold the highest standards of business ethics. We believe that by pushing the boundaries of visionary thinking, we can achieve exceptional results. As a Lockheed Martin employee, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in an environment that values integrity and excellence.
By leveraging your expertise in instructional design and technical training, you will play a critical role in enhancing the operational readiness of our Cyber & Intelligence teams and ensuring the success of high-stakes national security missions.
THE WORK
As a Cyber RF Software Engineer Senior Staff, my typical day is filled with excitement and energy as I tackle a variety of challenges and responsibilities. Each day as a team lead, I oversee one or more software development teams and ensure that our work is excellent and matches or exceeds the outline of the software development process being used on any particular project. I'm passionate about mentoring and guiding my team members, and I enjoy watching them grow and develop their skills.
Usually each day includes consulting and analyzing user requirements and translating that information to build software design and performance requirements. I love digging into complex problems and finding creative solutions, and I'm always looking for ways to improve our software development process.
When I'm not designing and coding new software or modifying existing code to add new features, I'm debugging existing software and correcting defects. I'm meticulous about my work, and I take pride in ensuring that our software is reliable and efficient. I also make recommendations for improving our documentation and software development process standards, because I believe that's essential to delivering high-quality products.
I'm also responsible for integrating existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments, which requires a deep understanding of C++, K8, Python 3.0, GIT, and CI/CD pipeline. I'm super familiar with Agile Sprint Development methodologies, and I've worked on a range of projects that involve Digital Signal Processing and related RF technologies. (see Basic Qualifications)
WHY JOIN US
In this role you will have the opportunity to shape the future of technical proficiency within the Cyber & Intelligence domain, directly impacting the capabilities of those who protect our national security.
Our benefits are built to match the caliber of your work. Reliable, high performing, and mission ready. You’ll enjoy world class resources, mentorship, continuous learning, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive work life balance—all within a culture that values innovation, integrity, and collaboration.
