Marketing Account Director (Start-Ups) at Power Digital Marketing

Job description

Who We Are: Power Digital is an AI-Native Growth Firm built at the intersection of world-class talent and proprietary technology. We help leading and emerging brands grow by combining deep vertical expertise, strategic thinking, and enterprise intelligence to drive measurable business outcomes. For more than a decade, we have built our business around one belief: the best technology makes great people better. Our teams of strategists, creatives, analysts, and technologists use Omega, our AI operating system, to surface opportunities faster, investigate what is driving performance, and execute approved work with greater speed and precision. Behind Omega is Iris, our proprietary intelligence layer, built on years of real performance data, strategic frameworks, testing, and learnings from across our client portfolio. AI expands the capacity of our people to think, create, solve harder problems, and make better decisions. Human judgment, creativity, and accountability remain central to how we work. As a people-first firm, we value diversity in backgrounds and experiences. We strongly believe our people and culture are key to our success. We partner closely with our clients as an extension of their teams, working across strategy, execution, and measurement to identify what is truly blocking growth and determine what to do next. Our culture is built on people who are curious, ambitious, accountable, and committed to delivering meaningful results for our clients and for one another. At Power Digital, we believe the future belongs to teams that combine the best talent with the best technology. We are building that future today. **We support 100% remote, in-office, or hybrid work styles for anyone legally eligible to work in the U.S. A day in the life: You'll own a portfolio of 8–12 Core accounts — early-stage and growth-stage brands that are figuring it out in real time. Some launched via crowdfunding. Some are founder-led with no dedicated marketing team. Some are scaling fast, and the infrastructure hasn't caught up. None of them has a budget to waste. These clients need a different kind of AD. The Power Circuit work is the same, but what you find is usually more fundamental: weak product-market fit signals, an undefined audience, no measurement baseline, and a media mix built on gut instinct. Prioritization matters more here because you can't fix everything at once, and trying to will burn both the client and the team. You also need to be comfortable being the most experienced person in the room. The client may not know what good looks like yet. Showing them clearly, without condescension, is a meaningful part of the job. Responsibilities: Employ AI technologies to enhance and optimize business processes Utilize and leverage Power Digital's Nova ecosystem as it relates to your department Run quarterly Power Circuit reviews — diagnose growth constraints across Business, Audience, Product, Messaging, Channels, and Measurement; build a prioritized roadmap that accounts for what the client can actually execute with their current resources Own the senior client relationship, which often means the founder directly; QBRs should feel like a board-ready business update, not a marketing recap Help clients build measurement infrastructure from scratch when it doesn't exist, establish baselines before optimizing against them Coordinate paid, SEO, content, email, and creative work around a focused account strategy; scope management is part of the job Identify expansion opportunities that fit the client's stage, don't oversell services a brand isn't ready for Manage retention and expansion; lead renewals; grow MRR Build multi-threaded relationships with multiple layers of client contacts so no single point of contact departure puts an account at risk Ensure daily use of our proprietary technology (Iris and nova), Pulse (client performance and sentiment tool) cadence at 100%, and Power Circuit (our proprietary diagnostic system) compliance across managed ADs Manage and develop 1–2 direct reports — run regular 1:1s, build development plans, and own their performance reviews Coach analysts and specialists; many will be working with startups for the first time Role Requirements: 6+ years in marketing, with meaningful experience working with early-stage or scaling consumer brands Has worked with founder-led businesses and understands the dynamic — decisions move fast, emotions run high, strategy and execution blur together Comfortable building from scratch: no brand guidelines, no historical data, no benchmark — and still making good decisions Understands crowdfunding-to-DTC transitions and what changes when a brand moves from Kickstarter momentum to sustainable acquisition Strong prioritization instincts — knows which problems to solve first and which to defer Comfortable with scrappy media mixes and knows how to get signal out of small budgets Track record of retaining and growing accounts, including accounts that went through rough patches Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Expansion to Churn Ratio (ETCR) Net MRR across portfolio Client NPS (8+ avg) Monthly Service Expansion pipeline generation Power Circuit Certification (annual) Most Important Things (MITs) Team Coaching and Development Marketing Strategy, Development and Execution Client Retention and Client Revenue Growth Benefits & Perks: Base salary + commission opportunities Robust Medical, Dental, Vision insurance plans with up to 100% employer contribution towards employee monthly premium 401(k) plan - 4% employer contribution matching Unlimited Time Off available on day one Up to 4 hours per quarter for paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO) towards philanthropic endeavors Fully flex work environment: full-remote, in-office, or hybrid A one time $100 USD Work From Home (WFH) stipend automatically added to your first paycheck Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 12 observed United States national holidays + 2 mental health recharge days per year Unlimited opportunities for growth & leadership within a rapidly growing firm Ongoing employee development programs for personal and professional growth (Hedgehog and Vital 5s) Quarterly awards including prize money and recognition for outstanding performance Opportunities to be involved in company DEI initiatives Power Digital’s people and culture are at the core of our success, which is why diversity in our team’s backgrounds and experiences are paramount.
