Job description

Sharetec is looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our team! At Sharetec, we believe in a people-first business. Our mission is to make millions of people’s lives easier by developing innovative core banking and lending software solutions for credit unions and their members. Our customers rely on us for powerful financial technology that enhances operations across accounting, lending, member services, and online banking — and they count on us to be a caring, trusted partner in their success. The Role We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to help build the software that credit unions across the country use every day. You’ll work hands-on across the full stack — backend services, data architecture, and front-end applications — to deliver software that is reliable, scalable, and easy to use. Much of this work involves modernizing long-lived production systems into modular, maintainable designs. You’ll lead design discussions, set a high bar in code reviews, mentor mid-level and junior engineers, and work closely with product managers, QA, and DevOps to turn business needs into working software. If you enjoy solving hard problems in production systems, like helping other engineers grow, and care about building software people depend on, this role may be for you. Position Details This is a full-time, exempt position. Candidates may work remotely from anywhere in the United States, with the exception of California. The starting salary range for this position is $120,000 – $150,000 based on experience plus bonus. Who Will Love This Job • Someone who finds more satisfaction in making something better than building something new — and understands why that’s harder • Someone who believes that technology serving people’s financial lives is worth doing with real care and precision • Someone who is energized by a company in motion — where the roadmap is growing and your contributions shape the direction • Someone who is as comfortable in a front-end component as they are designing a database schema or a backend service • Someone who asks “why was it built this way?” before deciding how to change it • Someone who makes the engineers around them better through code reviews, pairing, and clear documentation • Someone who wants to own a product area and see their decisions show up in production • Someone who cares about secure, well-tested code — especially when it handles people’s money Essential Duties & Responsibilities Technical Leadership • Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, and database layers • Lead design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best-practice initiatives • Evaluate new technologies and guide adoption of tools that improve developer productivity and system performance • Define and document architecture patterns, design principles, and shared libraries for reuse across teams • Partner with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability tooling Software Development • Build high-quality, production-ready features using modern frameworks and cloud platforms • Write clean, testable, and efficient code, and help our coding standards evolve • Optimize system performance, reduce technical debt, and improve reliability • Work with QA engineers on automated testing strategies and code coverage • Take part in the production support rotation and lead root cause analysis and prevention Collaboration & Mentorship • Mentor and coach mid-level and junior engineers • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions • Give feedback and guidance during design and implementation reviews • Act as a technical resource and subject matter expert for your product domain Qualified Candidates Should Have Required • 6+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership on complex projects • Deep proficiency with at least one backend platform: C#/.NET, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, OpenEdge, or Python/FastAPI • Advanced experience with modern frontend technologies: Angular, React, or Vue.js • Strong database design and data architecture expertise: Progress, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB • Experience integrating APIs and third-party systems securely and efficiently • Proven ability to modernize legacy applications into modular designs • Familiarity with DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization • Clear communication skills for explaining complex technical ideas to varied audiences • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Preferred • Experience leading small teams or serving as technical lead on a feature squad • Experience designing distributed systems or microservice architectures • Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) • Security-first mindset and experience implementing secure coding practices • Prior experience in financial services or fintech • Familiarity with SOC 2 or other compliance frameworks Why Sharetec Acquired by Evergreen Financial Technology Group (EFTG) in late 2020, Sharetec is now marching towards rapid growth and expansion into new markets.
