📌 About Alpaca Health
Alpaca Health is a business-in-a-box for autism care providers to launch, run, and grow independent practices. We help clinicians get in-network with insurance, find their first caseload of clients, and eliminate admin overhead with an AI-powered EHR.
We believe the future of healthcare should be led by clinicians, not corporations, and are dedicated to helping clinicians become owners.
We're growing fast, 30% MoM, and we're just getting started. Our top priority is helping clinician-entrepreneurs and families connect and thrive.
Today, we operate in Texas and Colorado, but we’re excited to open up 4 more states in 2026.
We’ve raised $4M+ from leading VCs including Adverb Ventures and South Park Commons.
🎯 Your Role: RCM Operations and Strategy Manager
• Own RCM performance and lead a team drive revenue growth: Own core RCM metrics including collections, denial rate, clean claim rate, and days in AR by managing a team of 3-6 RCM associates and partnering with external vendors.
•
• Build proactive, upstream revenue systems: Shift the organization from reactive billing to proactive revenue optimization by designing workflows that prevent denials and delays before they happen. Identify root causes across intake, authorization, documentation, and coding, and implement systems that ensure claims are correct the first time.
•
• Partner with Product & Engineering to scale RCM: Act as the RCM owner in product development, translating operational insights into product features that drive better outcomes. Help build and improve systems such as claim scrubbing, eligibility checks, authorization tracking, and documentation validation, and ensure payer requirements are embedded directly into workflows.
•
• Build scalable infrastructure for growth: Design systems and processes that support rapid expansion across states, payers, and providers. Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to improve accuracy and efficiency, and continuously evolve the RCM function as volume grows.
•
• Drive continuous improvement and scalability through data: Partner with Engineering to build dashboards and reporting that provide real-time visibility into performance, and use those insights to continuously improve, standardize, and automate processes as the business scales.

🧠 Who We're Looking For
This job might be for you if:
• You're in NYC and love in-person work. We’re 5 days a week in-office—because speed, creativity, and culture matter.
• You bring a beginner’s mind. We care more about hustle and learning than polished résumés.
• You think like a founder. You thrive on open-ended challenges, and you figure things out faster than people expect.
• You're insatiably ambitious. You’ll master new technology, payer rules, and more, whatever it takes to help our providers deliver the highest quality of care.
• You're a force of nature. You’re not tied to a 40 hour work week. You push the pace and raise the bar for everyone around you, doing whatever it takes to get things done.
• You’ve previously worked a role at the intersection of healthcare admin and business. For instance, management consulting or investment banking in healthcare, or strategic finance or RCM at a VC-backed startup.
This role will live in our existing systems / technologies, which include:
• AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and vibe-coding tools like Claude Code
• Candid Health (preferred experience with Candid, Adonis, or other new tech-enabled RCM platforms)
• Availity
• Dialpad
• Alpaca’s In-House EHR
• AirTable
• Slack
• Payer Portals
If you don’t meet every single requirement, but are still interested in the job, please apply. Nobody checks every box, and we believe the perfect candidate is more than just a resume.
🚀 Why Join?
• You have the ability to materially impact families with autistic children and their providers from Day 1. This is not a role where you’ll be punching in the hours - you will see the material impact on the hundreds of families we serve.
• You want to do more than just RCM. You’ve worked the same denials for years, and want a chance to solve them at the root cause.
• Or, you come from healthcare strategy, but want to get more tactical. You’ve written models and worked on spreadsheets, but want to dig into the details and build a real RCM process and team.
You're a true owner. We offer meaningful equity alongside competitive pay:
• • 💵 $80,000-$120,000 salary
• 📈 0.1%-0.5% equity
Support that respects the grind:
• • 🏖️ Unlimited PTO
• 📈 401(k)
• 🏥 Full health insurance
