Job description

ABOUT OUTTAKE Outtake exists to empower and facilitate trust for a digital-first world. Today, impersonation, fraud, AI-driven scams, and identity abuse spread faster than any security team can respond to. So we built something different: an agentic AI platform that proactively detects, monitors, and takes down impersonators, automating protection in hours, not weeks. Built by ex-Palantir, ex-CTO/founders, and ex-Notion engineers, Outtake is designed for clarity, autonomy, and velocity. Our goal is ambitious: become the trust layer of the modern internet. And we intend to do it with a lean, dense, exceptionally talented team. Outtake is backed by top-tier investors and operators who believe in our mission and our model. With strong financial footing and a long runway, we prioritize creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. THE ROLE This is a Sales Engineer role. You will bridge the gap between customers' security challenges and Outtake's AI-powered platform, working at the intersection of sales and engineering. Technical fluency in complex cybersecurity environments and the communication skills to command the room with CISOs and security leaders are both essential to the role. You will be instrumental in supporting our most complex enterprise deals — leading technical discovery, delivering compelling demos, and designing solutions that map Outtake's platform to real-world threat landscapes. The right candidate has an insatiable curiosity about cybersecurity, genuinely enjoys solving hard problems alongside customers, and gets energized by helping close deals. This is a technical role at the front line of sales. You will architect proof-of-concept deployments, serve as the technical authority throughout the sales cycle, and translate field insights into product roadmap priorities. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Partner with Sales to lead technical discovery and solution design for complex, high-value enterprise deals - Deliver compelling demos tailored to each prospect's security environment and threat landscape - Architect proof-of-concept deployments that showcase Outtake's agentic AI capabilities. - Serve as the technical authority in sales cycles, fielding deep questions on threat classification, automated response, and platform architecture - Collaborate with Product and Engineering to translate field insights into roadmap priorities. - Build repeatable demo workflows and technical collateral that scale the sales motion - Surface patterns in prospect needs and competitive intelligence that shape product strategy - Hand off closed deals to post-sale teams with thorough implementation context - As the role matures, we expect to become the trusted technical advisor prospects rely on throughout the sales process, and a consistent driver of deal velocity and win rates through strong technical positioning WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - 2–6 years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or technical pre-sales, ideally in cybersecurity or adjacent infrastructure/SaaS - A strong understanding of modern attack surfaces, threat detection, and security operations workflows - Technical fluency with APIs, data models, and system architecture, with the ability to speak credibly to both engineering teams and security practitioners - Exceptional communication and presentation skills across technical and executive audiences - Natural curiosity and genuine passion for cybersecurity and continuous learning - High adaptability, with the ability to context-switch between customer conversations, live demos, and technical deep-dives - Nice to have: a background in cybersecurity — whether in security operations, threat intelligence, or selling to security buyers - Nice to have: familiarity with modern AI/ML concepts, particularly as applied to threat detection and response - Nice to have: SQL or similar analytical/technical skills - Nice to have: experience at a fast-paced startup LIFE AT OUTTAKE - Office: For those in NY, we are an in-person team (5 days a week, with flexibility as needed) working out of a stunning waterfront office in Brooklyn. Collaboration, speed, and clarity matter. - Health: 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision for employees. - Time Away: Flexible PTO. We trust adults to manage energy, not clock time. - Culture & Team: Annual company retreats and regular in-person events. Outtake is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive team.
