Shape what comes next | Discover careers in Tech At Amazon, our tech isn't just a tool, it's your playground. Our engineers work on scalable systems, cloud services, and customer-facing products that operate at global scale. This is an environment where you learn by building. Whether you're creating cloud-native solutions, optimizing machine learning models, or building products that drive experiences for millions of customers around the globe, your work reaches the world, fast. You'll take ownership early, collaborate across teams and disciplines, and grow your skills as you tackle new problems. There's no single path forward here, with a chance to explore different directions and shape your journey as you go. This is where ambition meets opportunity and, where the impact of what you build helps define what comes next, for customers and for you. What's in it for you? An internship at Amazon means real responsibility from day one. You'll build, test, and learn alongside people who want to see you succeed, while making an impact that reaches far beyond campus. At Amazon, we hire the best minds in technology to innovate and build on behalf of our customers. Customer obsession is part of our company DNA, which has made us one of the world's most beloved brands. Our Software Development Engineer (SDE) interns use modern technology to solve complex problems while seeing their work's impact first-hand. The challenges SDE interns solve at Amazon are meaningful and influence millions of customers, sellers, and products globally. We seek individuals passionate about creating new products, features, and services while managing ambiguity in an environment where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years. As a member of the Amazon Robotics Firmware team, you will work as part of a cross functional team to shape the next generation of robotic systems used throughout Amazon’s order fulfillment network. You will work closely with not only other embedded software engineers but also our team of electrical, mechanical and safety engineers to deliver a lasting impact to millions of customers worldwide. Amazon Robotics develops state-of-the art robotics for Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers. We are combining computer vision and custom robots to solve real-world problems at huge scale. Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management, computer vision, depth sensing, machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands. Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas. Our team partners with a variety of customers across Amazon worldwide to conceive, develop, prototype and deploy a wide range of robotic systems. Amazon Robotics empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. We are building a new, foundational automation system that will transform warehouse operations by combining multiple novel workcells. We're looking for curious minds who think big and want to define tomorrow's technology for operating robotics systems. At Amazon, we believe in ownership at every level. As an SDE Intern, you will own designing, developing, integrating, troubleshooting, and optimizing critical automation systems that will be deployed at very large scale. This ownership mindset, combined with our commitment to operational excellence, ensures we deliver the highest quality solutions for our customers. You will act as a key contributor to our product development roadmap and help develop software features, tools, and mechanisms to operate large robotic fleets (10,000s). At Amazon Robotics, you'll grow into the high-impact engineer you know you can be, supported by a culture of learning and mentorship. Every day brings exciting new challenges and opportunities for personal growth. Amazon Robotics internship/co-op opportunities will be based out of the Greater Boston Area in our two state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough, MA and North Reading, MA.
