We are looking for a talented Electronic Systems Engineer – Software to join our team specializing in Engineering for our location in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
• Strengthen Product Reliability: Mitigate failure modes by identifying critical interfaces, functions, interactions, and risks to improve long‑term product robustness.
• Shape Design Through Simulation: Influence product decisions by modeling and analyzing system, subsystem, and component behavior to predict performance and guide architecture.
• Architect Scalable Product Platforms: Develop holistic product platforms, evaluate architectural trade‑offs, and maintain traceable plans that align future products with market needs.
• Deliver High‑Quality Software: Build and verify software using strong engineering principles, ensuring updates are reliable, maintainable, and aligned with product requirements.
• Lead Verification & Validation Strategy: Create and manage validation plans, assess risk, interpret analytical and physical test results, and recommend solutions that ensure requirement compliance.
• Define and Govern System Requirements: Translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, manage lifecycle changes, and maintain the linkages that keep teams aligned and designs on track.
• Apply Systems Thinking to Improve Outcomes: Analyze interactions across the system to predict behavior, refine designs, and drive modifications that deliver the intended product effects.
• Drive Collaboration and Technical Clarity: Partner across functions, communicate effectively, apply statistical methods, solve problems with rigor, and document insights to elevate organizational knowledge.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
• Strong Software Engineering & Diagnostic Skills: You’ll need the ability to investigate software issues, understand causal mechanisms, recommend corrective actions, and use coding, compiling, static analysis, integration tools, and HIL environments to deliver verified, high‑quality software builds.
• Systems‑Level Decision‑Making: Success requires applying systems knowledge to make sound choices in requirements, architecture, design, and testing—decisions that directly influence software performance, product quality, and cross‑BU integration.
• Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Influence: You’ll rely on effective communication and teamwork to gather input, coordinate with product and software teams, guide technicians or student contributors, and contribute meaningfully to shared goals.
• Process Discipline & Independent Execution: You’ll need the ability to execute established development processes independently, improve tools and workflows, manage ambiguity in moderately complex systems, and steadily build proficiency while influencing team outcomes.
