Mill is a waste prevention technology company reimagining what it means to eliminate waste, starting with food. We build smart systems and infrastructure for homes, businesses, and municipalities that transform food scraps from landfill-bound waste into valuable resources, including chicken feed. Tens of thousands of Mill’s residential food recyclers are already helping households divert millions of pounds of food scraps every year, paving the way for our upcoming launch of Mill Commercial—the industry’s first end-to-end solution for managing, understanding, and preventing food waste in commercial environments (e.g. grocery, restaurants, food services). At Mill, we are passionate about building easy-to-use, beautifully designed technologies that keep food in the food system and out of landfills. The Context
Mill is at a pivotal point in our growth. We have found strong momentum in our Consumer business, and we are now focused on scaling household adoption of a new category that combines hardware, software, and service to change how people manage food waste.
At the same time, we are building toward a broader set of business lines. Alongside Consumer growth, we are developing commercial and institutional offerings that extend our impact through partners and enterprise environments. The two are complementary. Consumer establishes demand and habit, while Commercial expands reach and scale over time.
As we scale, we need to grow our acquisition engine with the same discipline we've brought to product. We are looking for a senior, hands-on growth marketer who can own paid and performance channels end to end — building an efficient, diversified, and continuously improving customer acquisition engine that serves both consumer and commercial buyers.
This role reports to the GM of Consumer and works closely with Growth, Analytics, Creative, Sales, and Business Operations.
The Mandate
This person owns Mill's customer acquisition engine — the paid channels, performance metrics, and testing infrastructure that turn marketing spend into efficient, scalable growth across our consumer and commercial business lines. The remit is both strategic and deeply operational:
Own the paid acquisition engine. Own the paid acquisition engine. Manage strategy, budget, and day-to-day execution across paid social, paid search, programmatic/display, affiliate, and marketplace channels.
Drive full-funnel growth. Drive full-funnel growth. Own the media mix and budget allocation across channels, set bidding and pacing strategy, and continuously reallocate spend toward the highest-efficiency opportunities.
Build rigorous measurement and experimentation. Build rigorous measurement and experimentation. Own attribution, CAC/LTV modeling, and incrementality testing; run a disciplined test-and-learn program across audiences, offers, and channels.
Partner on high-performing creative. Partner on high-performing creative. Brief Creative and agency partners on what's working in-market, and run a rapid creative-testing cadence to keep performance improving.
Optimize the conversion funnel. Optimize the conversion funnel. Partner with Product and Growth on landing pages, checkout flow, and onboarding to lift conversion rate and improve payback period.
Build the commercial acquisition motion. Build the commercial acquisition motion. Partner with Sales and Business Operations to build paid lead-generation and co-marketing programs that fill the pipeline for partner and enterprise buyers.
Operate with rigor. Operate with rigor. Own CAC, ROAS, and payback targets, manage budget and pacing across channels, and report performance with clarity to leadership.
Turn data into advantage. Turn data into advantage. Partner with Analytics and Data Science to understand what's driving (and limiting) efficient growth, and translate that insight into targeting, channel, and creative decisions.
Apply learnings forward. Apply learnings forward. Build Mill's growth playbook so each channel, cohort, and campaign compounds on the last.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate brings:
8 to 12+ years of marketing experience, with deep, hands-on expertise in growth or performance marketing across paid social, paid search, and programmatic channels.
A track record of building efficient, scalable acquisition engines for new products or categories, with demonstrated command of CAC, LTV, and payback economics.
Experience owning a paid media budget and performance targets, with the operational rigor to manage pacing, bidding, and ROI in real time.
Fluency with attribution, analytics, and experimentation — comfortable designing and reading incrementality tests, not just dashboards.
Fluency partnering with Creative, Analytics, Data Science, and external agency and media partners to ship and iterate on high-performing campaigns.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, moving from strategy to execution without waiting for perfect information.
