Job description

Who we are Founded in Scottsdale, Arizona, equipifi is a fast growing, early-stage SaaS fintech building the credit infrastructure for modern banking. We make Buy Now, Pay Later a native banking product by powering financial institutions with flexible financing solutions embedded within their digital banking experience. Learn more at equipifi.com . Our team is built on experience, talent, and - most importantly, attitude. We thrive in a fast-paced environment and value infinite curiosity, a people-first mindset, and a shared commitment to learning, growth, and pride in the work we do. At equipifi, we practice radical transparency, encouraging team members to move quickly, share ideas openly, and collaborate with peers who will respectfully challenge one another as we learn, build, and grow together. Success in this role comes from the ability to adapt fast, question the status quo, explore new ideas, and ask thoughtful (sometimes uncomfortable) questions - all while maintaining momentum in service of better customer outcomes. The work we do takes a village - and in an environment that moves fast, we embrace the adventure together. Where you'll make an impact equipifi is looking for a Business Development Representative to own outbound prospecting across our most important bank and credit union accounts. Our Account Executives do their best work educating financial institutions and closing deals, but someone has to get them in the room first. That's you. You’ll be cold calling to book meetings - book now, [they] pay, later (okay, we had to). This is a role that gets your foot in the door to launch your tech career, built for someone who wants to learn fast and keep leveling up. You'll hear "no" a lot more than you hear "yes," but in baseball, getting a hit three times out of ten gets you into the Hall of Fame. If you hate losing enough to keep going until you get that yes, this is the role for you. Outcomes You'll Own Build pipeline. You'll be responsible for setting intro meetings and demos with our target accounts. That means mapping out each account, identifying the right decision-makers, writing outreach tailored to what they care about, then reaching them through calls, emails, and LinkedIn. Over time, you'll figure out which messages and channels work best for each persona and double down on them. Turn marketing momentum into booked meetings. Our marketing team puts equipifi in front of the right people through campaigns, webinars, and conferences. You'll work hand in hand with them to follow up live and turn their assists into goals, coordinating your outreach around key campaigns and events so that top-of-funnel attention becomes booked meetings. Set our AEs up to win. You'll be setting appointments for every AE on the team, working with them to strategize on target accounts, which frees them to focus on educating prospects and driving deals to close. A great meeting starts with a great handoff, so you'll make sure each AE walks in knowing who they're talking to and why the conversation matters. Along the way, you'll take what you hear from prospects back to the team and keep sharpening the pitch. What you bring to equipifi • This is an early career role and we are looking for someone with the hunger to start their career with massive upside. Prior sales experience isn't required , and we'd rather teach you how we do it than un-teach habits from somewhere else • Comfort on the phone . Cold calling is a big part of this role, and you'd rather pick up the phone than hide behind an inbox • Grit. You've taken a hard hit before, whether in school, sports, or a job, and you kept showing up anyway. Rejection doesn't slow you down ; it tells you the next step forward • A competitive streak . You care about the scoreboard and you want to be at the top of it. A background in athletics or other competitive pursuits is a big plus • An appetite for feedback. You ask for coaching , act on it quickly, and don't take it personally when something doesn't land • Ambition for the long game. You're looking for a place to build a career , not a quick stop on the way to your next title • CRM experience is a nice-to-have, not a must-have. We'll train you on our tools • An AI-native mindset. You're already using tools like Claude to work smarter, and you're curious how they can make outreach better Your future team This role reports to our big hearted, yet goal-hungry VP of Sales, Lo Smith , who has done this job herself and knows exactly what it takes. She'll coach you through the ramp, helping you sharpen your pitch, and challenging you to raise the bar. You'll also work alongside our talented Account Executives, who will show you what great selling looks like up close. equipifi benefits This role pays a $65,000 base salary plus $20,000 in variable pay, for on-target earnings (OTE) of $85,000. • Competitive compensation includes stock options offered to all employees • Unlimited Paid Time Off, plus paid holidays, and parental leave • Flexible hybrid office/work from home philosophy • 401(k) program available with 50% match up to 5% • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance coverage with 100% of employee premiums paid for by equipifi and 50% for dependents' premiums • Long-term and Short-term disability, as well as term life insurance coverage with 100% of premiums paid for by equipifi Almost ready to apply? We know that great candidates don't always check every box on paper. If this role gets you excited and you feel you'd bring insight, creativity, and passion to what we are building, we strongly encourage you to apply. Our qualifications are meant to set everyone up for success, but let's face it - startups aren't in the business of mundane box checking. We're committed to building a team with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking, because that's how we tackle big challenges and grow together. If you're ready to push boundaries and contribute your unique perspective, we'd love to hear from you. Disclosure: We use AI throughout our hiring process - to help screen applications and take notes during interviews, including pulling out key answers from the conversation for our team to reference. But every decision about who moves forward is made by a person here, not an algorithm. We're small and mighty, and we like it that way.
