Who We Are
Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most critical challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth. Since pioneering business strategy in 1963, BCG has evolved into a global leader in transformation—integrating strategy, technology, data, and human-centered design to deliver measurable impact.
Today’s most competitive organizations seamlessly combine digital and human capabilities. Our diverse global teams bring deep functional expertise , bold thinking, and rigorous execution to help clients navigate complexity, build enduring advantage, and drive lasting results.
We Are BCG X
We’re a diverse team of more than 3,000 tech experts united by a drive to make a difference. Working across industries and disciplines, we combine our experience and expertise to tackle the biggest challenges faced by society today. We go beyond what was once thought possible, creating new and innovative solutions to the world’s most complex problems. Leveraging BCG’s global network and partnerships with leading organizations, BCG X provides a stable ecosystem for talent to build game-changing businesses, products, and services from the ground up, all while growing their career. Together, we strive to create solutions that will positively impact the lives of millions.
What You'll Do
The AI Factory Product Builder role sits within BCG’s centralized AI Factory and focuses on building AI-enabled products, tools, and delivery assets that scale across the firm. These assets are designed to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and evolve how BCG teams work and support our clients.
AI Product Builders work closely with front-line consultants, offer teams, and product leadership to identify repeatable challenges and opportunities across BCG’s ways of working. They then design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions—agents, services, and workflows—that can be adopted broadly across practices, regions, and client contexts.
This role blends product thinking, applied AI, and hands-on execution. Success is measured by shipped assets, adoption by consulting teams, and tangible impact on delivery speed and quality.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As an AI Product Builder within BCG’s AI Factory (AIF), you will leverage exposure to real client workflows to break apart processes, identify leverage points, and rapidly develop and deploy AI solutions (including agents built using Claude Code and other leading AI tools) that accelerate delivery, improve quality, and unlock new ways of working. You will help turn successful solutions into reusable assets, patterns, and accelerators that scale across similar engagements and portfolios.
All of this is done in service of BCG’s One BCG mindset - bridging consulting judgment, technical execution, and long-term capability building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Build AI-enabled products and assets
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools, agents, and services that support BCG’s consulting offers and delivery processes
• Translate business and delivery needs into scalable, production-ready solutions
• Ensure solutions are usable by non-technical consulting teams and aligned with BCG standards
Improve and reimagine consulting workflows
• Break down existing consulting and delivery processes to identify opportunities for automation, augmentation, or redesign
• Experiment with new AI-enabled approaches to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality
• Rapidly iterate based on feedback, usage data, and evolving needs
Operate with a product mindset
• Partner with AI Factory product, platform, and engineering teams on architecture, prioritization, and roadmap decisions
• Balance speed of experimentation with robustness, security, and maintainability
• Document patterns, approaches, and best practices to enable reuse and scaling
Collaborate across the firm
• Work closely with front-line consultants and offering teams to understand real delivery challenges
• Act as a connector between product, technology, and consulting perspectives
• Contribute to capability building and knowledge sharing across the AI Factory and broader BCG community
THIS ROLE FAVORS DOERS
This role is best suited for people who ship.
You have a strong bias toward action and experimentation. When you see a problem, your instinct is to build a working solution, test it, and improve it - rather than over-optimize plans or documentation. You enjoy turning ambiguous ideas into concrete, usable products that others rely on.
YOU’RE GOOD AT:
• Breaking complex workflows into simpler, more scalable components
• Building and shipping tools, services, or experiments that solve real business problems
• Operating comfortably in ambiguity and evolving requirements
• Learning new tools, platforms, and approaches quickly
• Bridging technical implementation and business outcomes
• Taking ownership and driving work forward independently
• Acting as an internal innovator or champion within an organization
What You'll Bring
Required:
• 3–6 years of professional experience in software engineering, or a related technical role, ideally within a technology-driven or consulting environment
• Practical experience designing, developing, and deploying AI-powered solutions, including applications leveraging large language models (LLMs), AI agents, and automated workflows
• Hands-on experience using Claude Code to build, prototype, and iterate on AI-enabled solutions in an enterprise environment
• Experience working with APIs, integrating third-party services, and connecting AI capabilities with existing tools, applications, and business systems
• Experience deploying applications using cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and working with agentic coding tools such as OpenAI Codex, Google Antigravity, Pi, or similar AI-powered development environments
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying solutions that improve operational or delivery outcomes
• Experience working end-to-end, from problem definition through solution development, deployment, and iteration
• Experience identifying opportunities to automate or enhance business processes and translating them into practical, reusable technology solutions
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a track record of building working solutions
• Undergraduate degree required
Preferred:
• Prior experience acting as an innovator, preferably within a larger organization
• Hands-on experience using Python for process automation, scripting, or building AI-enabled tools and workflows
WHY THIS ROLE
This role offers the opportunity to:
• Work at the center of BCG’s AI and product strategy
• Build assets that influence how consulting is delivered at scale
• Collaborate with world-class consultants, technologists, and product leaders
• Develop deep insight into business processes and how AI can reshape them
• Drive meaningful, visible impact across the firm
KEY COMPETENCIES
• Strong execution and delivery orientation
• GenerativeAI and Agentic development experience
• Product and systems thinking
• Entrepreneurial, resourceful mindset
• Comfort operating in ambiguity
• Collaborative, low-ego approach
• Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning
