Job description

We're looking for a Partnerships Manager to build and grow MLH's professional-conferences program, and to support sourcing for enterprise training hackathons at large established companies. Since 2013, MLH's community work has focused on supporting early career developers. In the age of AI, we believe there are more than a billion software creators coming online. So, we're expanding our mission to empower both software developers and creators at all stages of their career. One of the primary ways MLH is now reaching professionals is through upskilling events, like hackathons and roadshows, at industry conferences and in enterprise environments. We've had a ton of success building partnerships with events like All Things Open and Grace Hopper Celebration in 2026. Now we're looking to replicate this success at scale, as we've done with over 4,000 universities through MLH's collegiate Hackathon League. This is an outward-facing role for someone who enjoys creating momentum from an MVP: creating a pipeline of the right opportunities, building relationships with organizers and corporate stakeholders, and turning early conversations into strong, repeatable partnerships. Success with enterprise hackathons could lead to this role expanding into other product areas in the future. What You’ll Do • Identify and pursue professional conferences where MLH can create value. • Source enterprise hackathon opportunities at large established companies, training-focused events distinct from our student hackathons. • Lead outbound outreach to conference organizers, corporate partners, and other decision-makers. • Pitch the program, negotiate participation, and move partnerships through to signed agreements. • Own relationships from first conversation through delivery. • Work closely with internal teams to ensure each engagement is set up for success. • You should expect to attend early events to learn the model firsthand, but on-site execution isn't the core of this role. • Help shape the partnership playbook as the program grows. Benefits • Competitive salary: $80,000 to $110,000 plus performance based bonus • Stock options • Medical, dental, vision benefits and 401K • Unlimited PTO • Travel opportunities About MLH Major League Hacking's (MLH) mission is to empower hackers. Each year over 100,000 young technologists and innovators around the world attend MLH events and join our community. Our events provide a self-driven environment where community members learn from each other outside the confines of traditional academia. The MLH team grew out of this movement and is dedicated to making it accessible to the entire world. Earlier this year, we acquired DEV (dev.to), an online community for software developers. Our combined ecosystem now supports millions of creators at every stage of their journey. • We’re a team of 20 full-time people primarily based on the US East Coast (mostly NYC) with team members in Louisville, London, and India, to name a few. • Our co-founders, Swift and Jon, were recognized for their work in education by Forbes in the 2017 30 Under 30 list. • We work with some of the top technology brands like Google Gemini, ElevenLabs, Cloudflare, and more, to help them reach our community and get the latest and greatest tools into their hands. • We have a group of world-class investors including General Catalyst, Alexis Ohanian (Reddit), Jeff Lawson (Twilio), and Sundance DiGiovanni (Major League Gaming). • We are a mission driven B Corp, committed to responsibly serving the world and our community.
