Job description

Quantum Sky is seeking a Platform Network Administrator. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in IT systems, infrastructure, technical support, or networking who is eager to grow into a highly skilled Network Administrator. What matters most is your curiosity, initiative, determination, and willingness to continuously learn. You'll join a team of experienced network, platform, and software engineers responsible for building and operating next-generation data center networks that support Artificial Intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing workloads. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading technologies while developing expertise in large-scale, mission-critical networking environments. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving difficult problems, and is excited by the challenge of learning new technologies. If you're the type of person who likes to figure out how things work, improve processes, and continuously expand your knowledge, you'll thrive in this role. Responsibilities: • Assist in documentation, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-performance data center networking infrastructure. • Learn, support, and progressively develop expertise with advanced networking technologies, including BGP, ECMP, VXLAN, Spine-Leaf architectures, MCLAG, RoCEv2, and related technologies. • Assist in identifying performance trends, capacity constraints, and emerging issues before they impact services or customers. • Partner with experienced engineers to deploy, optimize, and scale network infrastructure supporting AI and other demanding workloads. • Investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive issues to resolution. • Participate in network upgrades, implementations, testing, and operational improvement initiatives. • Continuously expand technical expertise through hands-on experience, self-directed learning, mentorship, and training opportunities. • Travel up to 20% as needed to support deployments, installations, maintenance activities, and operational support. Required: • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and follow-through. • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where technology is continuously evolving. • Willingness and enthusiasm to continuously learn and develop new technical skills. • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international). Desired: • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, SNMP, and basic network troubleshooting. • Experience with monitoring, telemetry, observability, alerting, or performance management tools. • Exposure to Linux systems or Linux-based Network Operating Systems (NOS). What Will Make You Successful: • You are naturally curious and enjoy investigating how systems and technologies work. • You take initiative and actively seek opportunities to improve processes, systems, and your own technical skills. • You are comfortable tackling unfamiliar technologies and enjoy learning through hands-on experience. • You take ownership of problems and remain engaged until they are resolved. • You value teamwork and enjoy collaborating with others to solve challenging technical problems. • You are motivated by growth and excited about developing into a subject matter expert in modern data center networking. Clearance: • Active TS/SCI clearance with Counterintelligence polygraph • Have current IAM Level II to satisfy DOD 8570 IAT requirements Location: • Onsite, McLean, VA Compensation: • Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically between $190,000-$205,000. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range. Benefits: • Highlights of our benefits include Health/Dental/Vision, 401(k) match, Paid Time Off, STD/LTD/Life Insurance, Referral Bonuses, professional development reimbursement, and parental leave.
