Job description

At Yardzen, we believe people are at their best when they’re outside. Our mission is simple: help people complete the outdoor spaces of their dreams. We start with design and stay with the project through the build, pairing homeowners with a dedicated representative who guides cost and design tradeoffs, matches them with multiple vetted local contractors, makes sense of the estimates, and helps them confidently hire the right one. The result is a finished yard, not just a plan. Since our launch in 2018, we've helped tens of thousands of homeowners transform their outdoor spaces, make sustainable choices, enhance property value, and enjoy life outdoors. We're transforming the $200 billion outdoor renovation industry with AI, data, and technology, making design effortless and the build clear, guided, and far less daunting from first idea to finished space. Recognized as Fast Company's Most Innovative and named to Inc. Magazine's Best Places to Work, our work has been featured in Architectural Digest, The New York Times, Sunset Magazine, House Beautiful, The Wall Street Journal, and Forbes. And we're just getting started. Yardzen is hiring a hands-on Brand Marketing Manager to help grow brand awareness, tell our stories, and create new ways for homeowners and brands, alike, to discover and engage with Yardzen. You’ll own the programs you build, including their results. This role requires a brand marketing athlete. You’ll do lots of things in this role, but first and foremost you’ll be a modern storyteller. Every single Yardzen client has a story. It’s through telling those stories individually and at scale that Yardzen’s brand really comes alive. This role reports into the Marketing Director. What you'll do: Brand Communications & Campaigns Define communications priorities and gain executive alignment on strategy and content approach that build the Yardzen brand with prospective clients. Design, launch, and own campaigns that focus on building brand awareness and shaping a positive perception of Yardzen. Nail consistent messaging and brand voice across every mention of Yardzen you own Identify creative opportunities to bring the Yardzen brand to life and reach new audiences across channels and activities. Organic Growth & Content Shape organic initiatives that introduce Yardzen (discovery) and entice the right people to engage with our brand and product platform. Leverage expertise in key social platforms (Instagram, Pinterest) to tell compelling brand stories that engage potential clients (and the Yardzen community). Design programs that make it easier for Yardzen clients to share their yard transformations, and thus share Yardzen. Own the Yardzen Ambassador Program for creators and Yardzen champions, alike, to earn commission. Brand Collaborations & Activations Discover and engage with the brands that share our ethos and complement our mission for potential partnerships to engage audience segments with the Yardzen brand. About you: You have 5+ years of experience across brand marketing, communications, content, PR or integrated marketing. You're talented at content strategy, creation and measurement and intuitively understand Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, LinkedIn and Substack. You're endlessly curious about the next great platform and what it can unlock for brands. You’re a strong writer and editor. You’ve been complimented on your writing skills your whole life. Bonus if you have experience in a premiere PR firm working on successful D2C brands. You’re a versatile generalist who’s excited to work across different types of marketing initiatives. You’re self motivated and are inclined to run, not walk. We move fast! You can write a killer pitch and show us a few that have resulted in excellent stories. You’re AI-confident but not reliant. Claude has nothing on your writing skills. You’re a real teammate, with goodness and grit. You’re proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with lots of ambiguity. You are based in the Bay Area and available to support occasional in-person opportunities - such as client photo shoots, community events, and brand activations - in Yardzen’s largest client market. What we offer: Remote work, always: We're a remote-first company Full coverage for you: 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance Competitive compensation: Salary that matches your skills and experience Support for growing families: 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave Monthly perks: Wellness, cell phone, and internet stipends to keep you connected and cared for At Yardzen, we’re committed to creating a space where our employees can bring their full selves to work and have equal opportunities to succeed. We are looking for people that will add to our culture, not just fit in. So regardless of race, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, origin, ability, age, or veteran status, if joining this mission speaks to you, we encourage you to apply! If you are an individual with a disability and would like to request a reasonable accommodation as part of the application or the recruiting process, please contact us at recruiting@yardzen.com. Yardzen is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are not located in a state where Yardzen is registered, you will not be eligible for employment .
